Servers MergingFollow

I wonder how they will handle the server names after the merges.

Will the login server names be listed like they were in EQ1 showing both former names?

Will toons be running around with "of [server]" after their names?

It may seem silly to some but I chose my starting server name because I LIKED it better than the others and because it brought back fond memories of my time in EQ1.

The server I am being merged with has a name that I would NEVER have picked because I dont want to be associated with the name.

This IS a game so these choices can take on a more unrealistic importance than actual RL choices should. These choices all contribute to your personal sense of roleplaying and fun.

Oh yeah ... I hope I can keep my main toons name. In roleplaying you tend to identify with it after awhile.

Just my 2c worth.

Being the pure geek I am and having some time to kill while at work I did a name search on the server our server is merging with to see if anyone in our guild has the same name. I came across 4 matches. None of the matches were my toons so I am in the clear. But 2 of those matches are our leaers main and her alt. Now what are the chances of that happening. The toons on the server that is merging with ours are all under lvl 15 and one is on the inactive list of their guild. It will be interesting to see who is the oldest toon.

When the EQ Live servers merged my son got hit with the mark of X and became Deelanx. I know that the character with the oldest toon gets to keep the name but we never ever saw another toon with that name. It seemed highly unfair since Deelanx was my son's main and this other Deelan was obviously not being played.

Just my 2 copper worth.

BTW, can anyone tell me what the levels of post score are? Mine are decent and I see others are good. What are the other levels?

I really hope the mergers are a good idea. The server populations seemed to be going up anyway and I hope the mergers don`t cause log in problems. I`m very happy with EQ2 however. I just cancelled my WoW account today. I had tried EQ2 when it first came out and decided to play WoW after playing it. I decided to try EQ2 again about 2 months ago and I haven`t went back to WoW. I must say that I like what Sony has done with EQ2 since the release of the game. So, I guess I`ll trust Sony with this call to merge. Get the servers up now Dangit.

Last night after the merge was completed, my level 36 Pally got a group within 30 seconds of putting on the LFG tag. This was without any recruiting whatsoever.

I hope this lasts a bit!
