Does anyone recall seeing a site that had maps of the runs for the Journey is Half the Fun? I have been searching and I can't find it.

thanks,

Never mind. I found it: http://theclenchedfist.com/Content/pa=showpage/pid=21.html

This was very helpful in my first three races so I am hoping for a happy fourth run.

Some of those zones now have griffon towers, I bet that would be helpful in some way.

If you don't have evac available, I wonder if you could set your recall point in the zone to help you get through it. It has a long casting time, so I'm not sure if that would be a viable option.

They recently increased everyone's base run speed, which I understand made this a lot easier. I finished this quest after the speed increase and just using a Spirit Totem of the Wolf and sprint I was able to finish all the races with at least a minute or 3 to spare. Even in the Feerrott where I had creatures attacking me and slowing me down.

The EQ2Maps (?) annotated maps helped a lot too where I was unfamiliar with the zone, I looked for all the route points before I started.

I 2-box so for the runs I have done so far I have either run with or been grouped with my bard. My biggest problem was the run in the Steppes. I couldn't get the updates in the Grave Pool and then at the dock. I died a couple of times running in circles in the Grave Pool. When I finally go the update and evaced to the dock then i couldn't get the update on the dock. I ran up and down the dock, circled the quest giver, hailed her, jumped up and down until the clock ran out.

I tried again the next day and had to circel the Grave Pool only twice before getting the update. When I evaced to the dock as soon as I passed the quest giver I got the update. I can only asume that the night I was doing the first runs there were some zone glitches. I had even tried cranking my graphics down as low as I could go in case it was just a lag issue that I wasn't noticing.

I am ready to do the Nek run now. I know the zone failry well which makes the whole difference on success. I will do a few leisurely passes just to get to know the path first.

I haven't been very dilligent on my Heritage quests so I am pusing myself to get caught up on them. If any of you are on Oasis and want to help let me Know. My main pair are Temperra and Raeebe.

Thanks, Zoo

How possible is the Nek run? I know it used to be nearly impossible without a evacer. I don't know the zone very well, but I am currently on the Nek race. Before at least it was fairly smooth after you finished the tier 3 zones. The Tier 4 and 5 races seemed like they gave you generous time.

I'm not sure where the lower land griff tower is in Nek, but there's another griff tower near the top of N'Marrs Ascent. That would seem to cut decades off your time :)
