Buying EQ2Follow

#1 Jan 25 2006 at 7:09 PM Rating: Decent
I want to get EQ2, but i have a few questions.

How many expansion packs will I have to buy with it?

What is the total amount of money i'll need to spend (not counting subscription fee)to get the ful game with expansions?

You don't have to buy anything besides the original game. The first expansion, (Desert of Flames), is for characters lvl 50 - 60 and you won't get there for a while. The second expansion, (Kingdom of Sky), is for characters lvl 60 - 70 and you won't be there for even longer!

Besides full expansions, there are also two adventure packs available which are like small expansion modules. These are also optional for you right away since they are for characters lvl 20 and above.

This is not to say that it will take you long to get to lvl 20 but only that even then you will have plenty to do without adding an adventure pack!

All that being said, there is a new package coming out in February that will include the original game and the 2nd expansion. That is probably your best deal right now.

To purchase everything you would probably looking at $65 - $90 all together. The exact amount would depend on where you bought the game and 1st expansion. The 2 adventure packs are $5 & $8 and are only available as digital downloads from SOE.

The first adventure pack is for levels 30 to 35ish. The Splitpaw are instanced zones that are based on you (or your groups) level. If you was to just buy one Id recommend the Splitpaw Saga, however neither of them are really used much anymore. Only reason I have played around in either of them is because I am on the all access deal and have access to both of them. PErsonally I think both offer very little to the game. You do get a lvl 35 spell from the first adventure pack, but you don't have to even own the pack to get the spell, just have to find somebody selling it on broker. Both of them reuse the same zone over and over with different spawns, all are underground boring looking zones. The Arena event in Splitpaw is probably the only thing I really enjoyed between both of them.
