I like collections but cannot find much info on them. I have a Qeynos druid, spend a lot of time in Antonica (:P) and check the brokers for missing pieces.

Is there a list of possible collections somewhere?

Are collections only from the yellow glowing dots with the question marks above them?

Are the YGDs level based (I went to Thundering Steppes once and never saw a single YGD after an hour or so of exploring/dying)?

OH...and on a different subject I think...what are tiers?

Thanks in advance!

The yellow dots are level based in that you need to have a certain skill to harvest them, but you can see them even if you cant harvest them. The spawn points in the TS are further in, I mainly found them around the dead river, and the centaur camps.

Here is a link to Ogaming, if you use the advance search and put collections in it, it brings up a lot of the collection quests, you can further refine the search by zones to simplify the list.

I try to do collecting quests, some times the reward suck, but some of the high volume bags are nice. I think I made 2 levels in a row just buy turning in a bunch of collection quests.

Tiers are the different level zones you can harvest items for. The zones right outside the starting cities are tier one, antonica tier two, TS/neklos forest three, EL/orcish waste teir four. Each tier offers different harvests, so for low level tradeskills you need tier one stuff, and as you move up in crafting skill you can use stuff from the higher tiers.

Thanks! I was surprised by the list of collections at that website but it looks like a big help. :)

Collection items also drop from mobs and in some zones can be found by right-clicking on glowing items.

If you like collection quests you'll be in heaven when you get to Sinking Sands and related zones Smiley: smile

I currently have 43 completed and 39 running Smiley: grin

Im not a fan of the dropped "Page" type quest. I mean really I have about 10 page quests opened where I have 1 out of 6 or 10 pages from random mobs. I don't see me ever being able to finish them because they are so rare and so many of them. I will have outgrowed the mobs before I ever see them completed.

As far as normal collection quests you can really get some nice loot and exp out of some of them. The Pristine Shard Collection doesn't cost hardly anything. Some of them are way too expensive on the broker to even bother with (IE all the Spider, Ant, Butterfly quests are overpriced on broker).

I didn't know that ? gathering were level based and that you couldn't harvest if you wern't a high enough level. Is that why I saw a couple of exlamation marks instead of question marks?

Yes, it's true! The good news is that if you can harvest from the other "gathering" type resources in the zone, (like plants, roots and mushrooms), you can pick up a "?" or "!" since the required skill level is the same.

Not exactly. "!" give up a different kind of collectable. Usually book pages that can either start a new book collection or add a page to an existing book. The reward to these collections is always... (drum roll please)... a book!
