well first off i guess i should ask, what can i expect from this game, not sure how old it is. i plan to go into fighter and be a shadowknight however thats possible. if ya'll could give some advice that'd be great and i suppose i'd be grateful for a guild to help me better understand the game in the long run. Post if your able to help or suggest advice.

I suggest you ask about the game in the EQ2 official newbie forums.

Is this to say that the people on these boards know less than on the official boards? If so, I strongly disagree. There are many people here that are more than willing to help while at the same time are quite knowledgable. With that being said...

You can expect to have a lot of fun. Most of the people that play are very nice and helpful. There are tons of quests to keep you busy. You can scroll down this page and read some of the threads regarding quests. Zoobecca even has a great link to a list of all the quests EQ2 has to offer. There is also a nice mix between solo and group content.

There are two ways to go about being a shadowknight. You can either start off evil and go from fighter>crusader>shadowknight or you can start off good and undertake the betrayal quest (which lets you switch alignments between levels 13-17). Either way you choose will definitely evoke some fun.

Most importantly, have fun with your playing experience.

Alot of people will tell you to come to their server because it is newbie friendly. Don't get me wrong that is a good thing, but to be honest I think about all servers are newbie friendly. I started on one of the older heavier servers (toxx) and I started from scratch and am doing fine.

EQ2 is really a good game to get into as a newbie as there are plenty of people to group and guild up with at all levels still.
