a good T5 harvesting spot?Follow

#1 Jan 13 2006 at 2:31 AM Rating: Good
I am looking for a good place to harvest in T5. I don't need for you to give me a set of coordinates just a rough idea of where your favorite place is...

So far in tier 5, (lvl 44), I am unimpressed by the zones I have been hunting in. Feerott is ho-hum and Rivervale has way too much heroic aggro wandering around for my comfort zone... Haven't tried Everfrost yet... maybe that's the place to be...

What do y'all think?

Feerott was my favourite, I lived there Smiley: smile

Heaps of quests, and absolute avalanches of nodes to harvest.

Feerott is the safest place for me. Everfrost and the lavastorm?? both have too many aggro mobs where the harvest point spawn.

Unfortunately i would have to agree with the previous posters. At your level your safest bet is the Ferrott. I used to always harvest in the area where Cithan is for the FBSS.

Lavastorm is a zone I always avoided as much as possible, this is a really mean zone.

Now when I need tier 5 stuff I harvest in Everfrost, up the tunnel to Menagerie then in the open area on the way to Permafrost up to the big tree. However I am 60 and I grey out the zone. Not to mention there is an epic X2 mob that pops near the tree...so yes, I guess I'm afraid to tell you you may want to stick to Feerrott until you gain a few more levels.

I actually did all my harvesting in Rivervale when I was about your level. It's the only T5 harvesting zone that has an area where the MoB's are non-aggro. You do have to keep your eye on the heroic aggro types and know where they are, but I found it doable.

I didn't like Feerott, too much foliage hiding the nodes and critters.

I also bought a lot of my resources off the broker because when I was in T5 DoF wasn't out yet and lots of nice people looking for rares put their common harvests on the market for coppers. Thay may have changed now that many will have moved on to looking for T6 stuff.

Roughly speaking, where abouts would that spot be, if you please...

That was/is my basic complaint with the place... with all the ground cover, I often miss the nodes... especially the roots and mushrooms...

That, and it's soooo dang dark in there!!!

Generally on the eastern side of the river, around the large round Tavern building heading over toward the tree-women on the ridges. Lots of nodes pop around the dryads, not too many right by the inn. Going towards them, the huge bees and the dryads on the first ridge are non-aggro. (Unless maybe you killed some of them in some darker past, then maybe not.) The corrupted dryads over the second ridge are heroic aggro, but you can harvest near them if you're careful.

Nodes also pop around the roads in the area, with the grassy areas on top of stone walls. You can harvest many of them from on the road and not get attention from the scorpion rats that congregate there. There's also a little house with solo con rats and wolves around it where quite a few nodes pop.

There's a rare spawn Epic X2 Dire Wolf that wanders around the area. I saw him twice, the first time he 2-hit me to death.

Unlike in Feerott the halflings keep the grass trimmed; so you can see nodes and monsters from a long way off.

Finally, do NOT cross the river. Here be monsters. (Everywhere.)

excellent detail, Lydiaele! Thank you very much. I know the spot you are describing. It is near the zone in from Enchanted Lands and accessable to most anyone, solo or grouped. I have been past there on the road but never went beyond the stone walls and up onto the hills because I wasn't much interested in the mobs there. But I will surely try it out this weekend! Thanks again.

LS is doable. Past the tunnel straight up to the lavafall, avoiding the group of aggro goblins near the top by the rock, is all aggro free.

Any node is easy to find in your field of view with the TAB key.

I haven't seen everfrost since they added the thick spawns of underconned KOS solo encounters (the ones that have no arrow or a up arrow). Anyways I used to get alot of harvesting done in the area that has the giant huubic things and deer. There is some KOS cougars that roam, but if your careful you can really find alot of stuff to harvest. LAvastorm isn't too bad near the docks but noticed even back in the day lvl 50's like to farm that area since it is close to zone in (and that was before players could grey the zone out with expansion).
