Hi,Im from EQOA (the eq for ps2) i was wondering if the game xp is based like eqoa and depended on grps for good xp,or is it like wow and more of a solo your way to 60 game? myself i preferr having a good 10hour grind usin your common 2xDDS tank and healer,is it like that maybe?...My main question is this..do people like grping all day having fun while getting massive xp or do u just run around with no one to talk to all day and kill weak *** solo mobs?...please reply =D ty.

There are many times when you will find a group that will stay together for many hours. You may also be into a great dungeon, and suddenly hear from the healer, "Got to go, baby-agro."

The good news is that there is a ton of solo content and quests if you cannot or don't want to find a group.

When you take on solo mobs, you will get low-to-medium exp. Solo mobs also drop less valuable loot. All that is for good reason - why get great loot from an easy kill?

When you take on heroic group mobs, you will see a significant rise in exp and loot. In fact, I was in a gnoll dungeon (Blackburrow) with a group and gained 2 levels in one night. We had members come and go, and at one point I had to take a dinner break.

Of course heroic group mobs are much harder, as we died several times in that dungeon.

You will also have several chat channels available to talk to others, find a group, or announce you have something for sale/trade. There is always someone on the other side.

For those less inclined, allow me to explain the above quote. What Tutan really meant to say was conjurer, not healer. However, this would have implemented him, thus making finding a group rather difficult.

Good try Tut. I'm on to your shenanigans. Smiley: wink2

That made me laugh out loud, Meayrk, thanks. I can hide nothing from you. :)

The xp experience is not quite the same as eqoa. You can solo all the way up, and you can at times get better xp from soloing (hey some groups just suck.) Overall though grouping does give faster xp, and better loot. Another plus here is no ninja looting. Another thing is eq2 is more quest driven, a lot of quests give nice xp and rewards, and there are so many more then in EQOA.

Your groups are also not limited to 4 players, so you may or may not have a crowd controller, or buffers, as well as the traditional roles you are use to.

It's just a matter of learning what works for you, and keeping your gear and skills up to date.

The key to soloing as a tank: stances, stances, stances. This should be your mantra. Keep your stances mapped to your hotbar. Double clicking a stance will switch to it immediately. You can go from defensive to offensive in a flash. These WILL make the difference between winning and losing a fight.
