I hope SOE isn't going to start churning expansions out like they do for eq1 now. Expansions IMO ruined EQ1. I personally would like to see one about every year and a half, not every 6 months! Anyways they have all ready started talking about the next expansion for eq2. I heard it was going to have something to do with Kingdom of Sky at the ogaming forums. I don't know if it will be about Felwithe since it is up in the trees, or it could be referring to Plane of Sky? I guess this also means players now will be able to get to lvl 70 putting more presure on leveling up ASAP. It was my understanding they have plans to take charactors to what level 200 or something?

I just don't want to see eq2 turn out like eq1. I mean you play eq1 now and you have lvl 70 toons running around with no clue where South Karana is. Eq1 is NOTHING like it was when it first came out. Alot of players never even see their hometown in eq1 now the way the game goes.

SOE stated sometime soon after initial release, (can't remember exactly when), that their intention was to release a major expansion every 6 months and an adventure pack every 2 months so I don't think they have moved their timetable up. In fact, it has slowed down with regard to adventure pack release.

Never the less, I don't have any problem with them churning out expansions and/or adventure packs as fast as they like as long as they clean the bulk of the bugs out prior to launch.

Yes, I also heard that the ultimate level cap designed into the game would be 200, but peronally, I feel no pressure what-so-ever to level, regardless of what expansions or new zones are available. I have not yet reached T6 and having just entered T5, (where there are 3 nice fat zones to experience), am in no rush to get there. As I did in EQ live, I fully intend to play this game at my own pace, (and no one elses), for as long as I play it at all.

All that being said, I think Felwithe would make much more sense for re-discovery at this time. I believe that according to EQ2 lore, the Elvan homeland was overrun by orcs soon after the loss of the moon so there would be a great opportunity there for some good dungeons. At any rate, there is so much we have left to discover on Norrath that PoP should still be a long way off...

I haven't felt the same expansiveness from EQ1 here in EQ2. Meaning, there is really no tmuch to explore once I've been there.

Of course, I had the benefit of joining EQ1 many years and many expansions after release, and was standing in awe of all the lands I had yet to explore.

I look forward to more expansions, as Sinking Sands and Pillars of Flame are not really that big, and Im getting the been-there-done-that syndrome.

But this does give me time to clean up old quests. Emporer Fyst in Deathfist Citadel fell to our party last night. One more step to Saving the Green Hoods. :)

Aye. DoF is weak. Ive done pretty much everything in it, just need to raid Godking for the 'prismatics part II' but its not likely to happen in a near future. There's just so many raid forces that can take him now as we speak...I think its the weakest part of DoF. I mean, you've got all that long, lenghty serie of tedious and some very annoying quests (the Peacock serie - not all are annoying, some are pretty cool to do too), 95% of those quests are totally soloable, and it only makes you want to go further and further in the serie and then BANG ! You need to be part of a top raiding guild to complete all that serie and get the nice reward at the end. All that work for an horrible aftertaste of frustration. I wouldnt expect such a great weapon to be part of a soloable quest, but to me its just plain ridiculous.

So do I want another expansion ? Sincerly, I don't know. If the expansion has a beta feel like DoF to it, I don't want to hear about it. If I hear its nice, then maybe im going to give it a shot. Not sure yet. SOE has done an horrible job of keeping the 'fun factor' for the average player that gets to have 'cleared' DoF. There is just so many times you can do Poet's Palace/Ancient Tables/Cazel's Mesa and writs to pay your new room in Maj Dul without falling asleep at your keyboard...not that i want to farm so badly, but since ive completed all the quest series of the expansion, thats all there is left to do...
