What's the deal w/ epics? do they have them, if so anyone know of a link I can check them out at?

There are no class-specific epic quests like EQ1. There are however, several raid-level mobs that drop nice loot, and there is also a series of difficult quests to get Prismatic items.
I would like to see Epic quests become a reality, as all the level 60 characters with nothng to do need something to do.
As to weather or not SOE will put them into the game is best answered by rolling the dice. Anything above a 0 means they MIGHT add it at a later date.

The "why" will always be a mystery until a Producers Letter comes out describing what SOE has in their crystal ball. My guess is that they wanted to ensure everyone had a chance to get everything. That may look fair in design, but it's not practical and does not contribute to a rewarding experience while playing and accomplishing things.
Until then, the closest thing you can do is Heritage Quests. They are difficult to very difficult, but not impossible.

They may add epics quests eventually. It took over a year and a half after eqoa had its cap raised to 60 for the 60 epics to come around.
For the quest to truly be epic, you need a complex story line to go with it. If they just wanted several groups to get togeather and fight some tough mobs they would just create more raid mobs. It is creating the quest and balancing the items/effort that takes time.
