Is it me or are the Mages way to powerful? My brother has a level 19 mage and I have a level 19 crusader and he does like 8x the damage I do. I know that they are more vulnerable and need to do more damage to take out the monsters quicker, but this seems ridiculous. Does anyone agree?
Crusaders are tanks, mages are damage dealers. Different roles = different dps.
Resistance to damage ia also not balanced... Your crusader can stand toe to toe with multiple mobs and mitigate the bulk of their damage output so that it rolls off of you like water off a duck's back.
Given the same encounter, your brother's mage would probably fold up like an oragami swan after the first swing.

When you get them working together then their capabilities balance out. The warrior takes the hits and holds the attention of the bad guys and the wizard kills them. Add a priest for healing and a few more classes for their various abilities and you see why EQ2 is is better (a little at least) when you group.
