Thinking about itFollow

I'm trying to think of something to ask for for Christmas...so I'm thinking...hmm...maybe EQ2! I've played a little bit of it (my brother owns it) and I thought it was kind of fun. I also used to play EQ1 and was addicted so...yep. I've been reading around in the forums and have seen mixed views on if you can solo the entire game or if you have to group most of the time. I don't have a lot of time to play each day being in college and what not, so I don't really want to invest in a game monthly when I have to wait an hour to get a group then am only able to play for a half hour. So if anyone has any information on this or anything else that may persuade me to play let me know! Oh yes...I am currently playing WoW too...so EQ2 may end up replacing WoW. WoW is getting kind of boring anyways.

Thanks.

I think every class is capable of soloing, but some have it easier than others.

Before the combat update I used to play an Illusionist and, while I could solo, it was very slow going and frustrating. The recent combat update has fixed much of the problem even for the frustrating Illusionist. Some classes (Guardian) might tell you a different story :)

Since the update I have been playing Necromancer and I'm up to level 20 and have had no problems soloing. In fact, I completed almost the whole betrayal quest solo.

You'll probably want to get some more opinions from others based on how easy it is to solo with particular classes but I am having no problem and I think it is possible with all, you just have to have the right technique :)

I have played EQ1 (about 3-4 years ago) and FFXI -- EQ2 is definitely easier to solo than either of those.

What classes interest you? Maybe that would help get some feedback from someone experienced with that particular class.

Thanks! I think I'd like to try either Shadowknight or Necromancer...two evil things...lol. No real reason for that, they just look interesting. Or perhaps an Illusionist.
