Has anyone found an adept 1 for their class? I'm a lvl 29 conjuror and i have yet to find an adept 1 i can use. Noone in my group has ever found any either. A friend of mine, 30 fury, has had the same problem, although he might have found 1 i don't know about. All of the adepts i find are for bard types and fighters mostly. Is this a problem that others have had or am i just that unlucky.

Another thing, are there any mobs that actually drop armor or any other equipment that a mage type can wear? Everything is fighter, priest, scout.

Maybe i'm doing things wrong, but with the money that i'm making now, it's hard to upgrade some of the spells i need and keep my armor from becoming grey. I understand that your not supposed to have all adepts for your spells, but i am only trying to keep a few spells that i use alot as adepts. Then i go out and kill in a nice little group of friends and i see 5 adepts most for fighters.

I'm going to stop this now before i start ranting even more than i am now. It just amazes me how i have to buy a lvl 28 spell from a broker when people in other classes are just finding their's laying around.

I hope you guys can shed some light on this situation for me, and thankyou in advance.

Yes, it can be fruistrating to not get any drops. I remember only getting a few Adept drops myself. Most what I got came from the broker. Also try the Fence in Qeynos Harbor. It's a broker for Freeport and Qeynos. Things may be a big more expensive there, but the selection is better.

An alternative is to create a Artisan Sage to make your own spells.

Another alternative is do a /who LFW, where the W is those looking for wrok. Send them a tell and you should be able to make a fair deal with a sage. Most of them will require you to provide the rare item it takes to make the spell, as they don't keep large stacks of rares themselves.

Lastly, do as many quests as you can find to upgrade your gear. Search a quest database like Ogaming to come up with a good list.

Your should be able to have Adept 1 for all your primary skills first, then everything else. I think I have only a handful of spells that are less than Adept 1, and at worst they are Apprentice IV.

Wait to spend your big money on the level 38 and above pets. By big, I mean 2p50g. That's the price I paid last night for a Adept III Aery pet. I saved up all my cash for the level 38 Earth pet, but that was before the revamp.

Now, the Aery pet seems to be the best when soloing and taking down heroic and below mobs. With some insane pet buffs on top of that, It's a killing machine.

I've never found an adept I could use. I've been through splitpaw where they drop like crazy. I've gotten dozens of adept 1 drops, but never for a Templar. I give guildies adept 1's they can use and thay have done likewise for me.

Sure seems like a plot... :)

The tale I am about to tell is one of my favorite EQ2 moments so far... and I swear that it's true...

I was in a regular trio in T-Steppes with my warden in the low 20s. Our habit in this trio is for one person to loot and split the take 3 ways later on. Works well for us since we are all friends in rl and everyone trusts everyone else. Since I had the biggest bags, looting duty almost always fell to me...

Anyway, we were working the crows as well as a few lions and beetles in that big oval pocket out past where the 1st splitpaw terraporter is now.

We dropped a crow and I dinged 22 or 23 on the kill. He dropped a chest and when I looted I noticed that the adept 1 inside was a warden spell. Since I had just leveled, I asked for a sec to examine my new ability and also the loot...

Well, imagine my surprise when I discovered that the spell that had just dropped was the same one I had just received for leveling!!! Talk about good timing.

Well I laid all this out to my two friends and they both declared that I should not only get to keep it, but should scribe it right on the spot. I did and we went on stomping crows and lion cubs... Even used the new spell a few times over the course of the rest of the session...

So it does happen. You can get a drop that you can use... but think about the odds for a minute... there are what 24 different sub classes? That would make the odds 23 to 1 against ever catching a drop you could use with that character.

Them's long odds, my friend...

yes very long odds. I just count on the money i make from selling the adepts that do drop to compensate for the money i spend on buying the ones i need. so far its worked well. <crossing my fingers that it stays that way.>
