Ok, so all toons get the little Inn room when they reach their city, but what would be the purpose of moving to a bigger room?

Are there more benefits to it? (I would hope so since it's a pretty exspensive thing to do) Like to move to North Qeynos the room costs 25 Gold and has an Upkeep of 97 Silver...so Why would I do this?

Thanks in advance for the help.

There are a few reasons. The first is practical. You can only have 100 items (pets, furniture, trophies, old world books)in your room, and then no more can be placed. The more rooms you have, the more houseitems you can place.

The other is sort of- well, not vanity, but owening one of the bigger houses is sort of a status thing. It's also something for roleplayers- would a level 60 hero with a dragon's hoard worth of cash live in a one room refugee apartment or would they live in their own house?

And of corse, some people get really into housing and decorating them. Some of the fireplace concepts that people build are amazing.

Should be an interesting experiment... Personally, even though I enjoy furnishing my place and decorating it with lots of pets and items, I still live in a one room. Maybe I'm just cheap... or maybe it's that all my alts have started nagging me for horses of their own...

I recently moved my bard and mage into two-room apartments in Qeynos Harbor. I like questing and have almost completed all the book quests that you can purchase through distressed merchants and the mage tower. I was running out of room and needed to make the move when I had the funds. The upkeep isn't too high for my levels.

I am one of those people who gets into the decorating of my rooms. I wish they would come out with some fluff items like a vase with flowers, some kind of curtains or valance, and maybe a dresser cloth. Or how about rugs that can be hung on the walls? They all could be factored easily into tradeskill goods. That's just my opinion.

One thing I enjoy doing is checking out what other people do in their apartments. If you right click on a door, select visit, you can then scroll through the names until you find a room that allows you to visit. You can tell which one are open by the highlighting of the Enter button on the screen. I have come across some very nicely done apartments and some that look like trash.

One neat little thing I learned from a thread here is that when you do visit someone else's apartment you get any updates on items you are selling. I live in QH but tradeskill in Willow Wood. To save time I find someone who allows visitors in WW and get my income update. Sweet! I find this helpful when I spend days slaving away at a hot stove and run short on cash. I can't add things to the broker from anywhere other than your own room though.

I was wondering, if you get a 2 room apartment do you have a bigger vault? Can 2 characters sell from there? I ask this because a couple of my friends have wanted to move into a central room so we don't have to run all around. Besides all the items we get from quests, or crafting would lower our rent a little so we figured it might be cheaper this way. Sorry if i started to get confusing or ran alot of things together, but i'm hitting my 12th straight hour of work at a warehouse, and it makes sence to me....(at the moment). Thanks for any help.

No - no matter what size home you have, you only get 2 slots - even worse - only the person who "owns" the home can get access to the vault so if you share a place with friends, only one of you can sell offline out of there. You can all sell while standing in the room but not offline.

I know this won't be cheaper, but it will save you some running around. All of you can get an apartment in the same exact city. Grant it, it won't be the same apartment, but it will be the same door. To clarify further, if you all move into, say Graystone Yard, you will all enter your room from the same door. This holds true for all of the inn rooms. They are "connected" by the same door, even though they do not open up to the same room.

In order to do this, go to your room and collect all of your things. Then relinquish ownership. Pick a central location for you and your friends and go get a room there.

Okay thanks for the clarification. I guess we'll end up keeping seperate rooms at the inn. All of us have our banks full at the moment and i don't think anyone would want to stop offline trading, since that's where most of our money is made.
