Has anyone fought any of these mobs? I want to know if, at level 31, I am capable of taking them on. Would it be possible with a full group of 30-36's to take them out? I don't know about Nek Castle. That place scares me.

Everling is simple but hard to get to with that blasted castle, but you will need a group. There is a lock out but I forget the conditions.

Varsoon is very tough and immune to several types of attacks - group needed also. He also casts Cure Arcane every tick, so DoT's will fall off his back like water from a duck. Conjurers need to use the Aery pet when fighting here. Remember, 18 hour lockout if you fail or zone.

Octogorgon is simple - group again. Keep in mind that after you kill Octogorgon you then take the hand to the firepit spawning the next boss. It is epic and takes a long while to wear it down.

Of all 3, I would say the Varsoon was the hardest. And with the combat changes, it may be even harder. Some mobs have been reported as now having knockback, so always fight with your back to the wall.

What if I had a group of all 31's? Would any of this still be possible?

Yes, but it might be challenging. Best to lean to the higher side of the level range if possible.

Varsoon would be the most challenging. Make sure your melee folks bring different types of weapons (slashing, crushing, etc)

I really doubt a level 31 tank can tank Varsoon. Bearing my title of 'Destroyer of Varsoon the Undying' myself :P, i can predict you a very hard time with a full group of 31's for him. And its even more true with the combat changes now. Varsoon is level 35 and has a LOT of hp for his level, and like the other poster said, he is immuned to some attacks and spells, which can make your time down there very painful if you are not prepared. I would suggest you go for Octo and Everling first, but be aware that you need some time ahead of you to get to Everling AND someone that knows his way around, because Nek Castle is tricky and, well, long. By going for these 2 first you will have a good chance of gaining xp and levels, as i myself wouldnt rush Varsoon with a tank lower than 33. So if it was just me, i would go for Octo first, then i would show everling who is the boss, and then i'd go kill Varsoon. Just my opinion though, you are free in a free world :)

I value everyone's opinion and appreciate the responses. I am completely in the dark when it comes to these mobs which is the reason for my post. I didn't want to take a full group of 30 and 31's after Varsoon or the others if we were gonna get wiped.

Nuther question: Does the CoI have a restriction as to when you can enter again?

Still looking, but haven't found it yet (I will eventually).

Access to CoD is a long process, as there are several different instances to get. This will get you started. Go to ROV and free the 2 centaurs in the jail to the left. The key drops from the "Jailor" which is in the same room but is not always up.

Aye, it was Smiley: grin Thanks for the link, though. I have just started CoI access. We will see how far I get this weekend. I only have a few more steps to get access to Nek, so I am in good shape. I just wanted to know if I am wasting my time with trying to complete these heritage quests if I am gonna get destroyed.

Unless you need the Heritage item badly, you should wait until you are higher level to do the HQ's. That way you will be more powerful and possibly able to solo the mobs. If a group is camping the named you need, you can always mentor to join in.

Once I found that I need to work the long access process for CoD, it took me only a few days of killing grey mobs (with lots of running) to get it done.

If I had to wait for a group, I would have waited forever as not everyone is willing to run continuously across 4 zones just for an access quest.

Nek Forest? I thought access to overlands zones was eliminated. Oh, wait...Nek Caslte. I just answered my own question. :)

Lockout of CoD was 12 hours before LU13. I think they changed it for 8 hours but i am not 100% sure about this. I havent been there in a while. Nek Castle lockout shared around the same time. If lockout of Nek Castle 1 is the same as Return to Nek Castle, then its an 18 hours lockout.
