Sorry for the stupid question. As a lvl 12 Bard, I can equip a bow, but cant seem to fire it. I have looked in skills and have not been able to find a ranged attack button available. From reading other posts I am sure a ranged attack button exists I just cant find it. I also wondered if I have to have some kind of sling first...if so maybe that is why no ranged attack button. Also guess that I wanted to be sure if bards can use bows, and if there is a certain level at which you get bow skill. Thanks

Yes, there is a ranged attack button and yes, bards can use a bow. But you won't find your generic ranged button on the pages that have your other combat arts and spells. Instead, they have grouped it on the pages with your other basic arts and abilities, like gathering and melee.
Try looking on the other tab and you should find it.
By the way, there is also a third tab that contains all your tradeskill buffs, (for when you need some of those).

Actually blue bards get 4 tabs.
The first one has the gathering and auto attack stuff, like the range one.
The second one has melee special attacks and melee buffs.
The third has spells, debuffs and some buffs.
The forth is trade skill.
