There are many threads on this page and the next from people asking similiar questions. Scroll down a bit and open a few up.

There was a 400+ post thread of "Wow or EQ2, Which is Better?" that has finally died and slipped into the back pages.

You'll find a smaller but more mature crowd in EQ2. If you want to grind, you can do that. If you want to group, you can do that. Questing and crafting...you can do that too. You can get a small free sample of gamplay here. That will just give you an idea of the mechanics and graphics, but does not hint at the literally thousands of quests and mobs to find and face.

It all boils down to what gives you fun. If any game starts to bore you, then time to either change your playstyle or change your game.

I've played casual since launch, reached level 50 just last month, and there is still a ton of quests and content for me to do.
