Solo ClassesFollow

Hello, I am new to the game and as my first char I would like a soloable char so I can get to know the game before I settle into something specific. If at all possible I would prefer a char that has a travelling advantage, via gates, ports or simple aditional run speed. I have been looking that up for a while but I cannot find something that specifically points at this. Other than Conjurers rock lol.

It doesn't have to be an easy class, just an easy to navigate with class.

Gates: Everyone gets a gate spell back to their hometown (with a long reuse timer). You can change it (via quest) so that it takes you back to a different suburb in your town, but that's it. No using gate to take you to an adventure zone.
Ports: There are none. (Assuming we're talking ports purely for travel...I suppose you could make the case that the scout ability escape is a port...but not exactly).
Run speed: All scouts get pathfinding (16% increase). Druids and Shamen get Spirit of Wolf (20% increase). I know that dirges have the ability to get some sort of nice run speed buff that stacks with pathfinding...I'm not sure, but I'm thinking that troubadors might get an ability like this as well since the new combat upgrade. (Dirges and troubadors are both scouts/bards; druids and shamen are priests.)
As for soloability, I haven't played since the combat upgrade, so things may have changed drastically. In terms of mages: Pre-upgrade, conjurors and necromancers were good soloers. Wizards and warlocks were good if you didn't mind risk. Enchanters (both types) were horrid soloers. Someone more knowledgeable will have to post to say if this has changed.

For run speed both bard classes get 34% MR buff at 41, they removed the dirge's buff in the last big update. Though in the end they only lost 6%.

I can say dirges can solo, Though we cant use poison our attacks do some nice damage and we have 2 lifetaps, a power recovery song and some debuffs/buffs.

I play a Conjurer and I solo most of the time, I have very little problem with mobs up to 3 levels or more past me as long as they are not heroic.

All class's can solo its just that some still do it better then others. My SK has a tuffer time then he did before the combat nurf bat hit. But my summoner, and warlock can solo with ease.

My Warlock can kill whites and yellows all day long with no breaks with good food and water. My SK can solo blues and once in awhile a white but will be out of power at end of fight even with good food and drink.

I have pretty much parked the 50 SK and been only playing my Warlock to level him up to be my main. The SK is a good support class but not the best tank in the game by far.

I've soloed to 42 as a Monk. I chose him cause he's a fighter that does a lot of fast dmg (shorter fights) and he can invis and play dead. He's now my harvester cause he can go where a lot of other classes don't dare to solo, because of those abilities. BUT, he's not much of a caster and they have to be played a little differently, so that may factor into your decision.

If you are looking for traveling advantage look into Wizard. There is no run speed buff but you get evac, group evac, and portal travel to CL/Ant and Gfay. Couple that with Call of Overload/Whatever good side is, return to splitpaw, and Call of Ro and i can get anywhere in the game in about 2 min. Very nice!

Oh yeah, and Wizzys have excellent solo-ablity. I can solo white and sometimes yellow heroic^^^ mobs pretty regularly.
