I just dinged level 20 illusionist, and im wondering which upgrade to take...
fascinate, gloom, overwhelming silence, or signet of intuition
I am leaning towards fascinate, since I am ALWAYS using that spell in group, but the only thing holding me back is that I don't know what the stats or on the spell (and I cant seem to find a site that lists it anywhere)
Because of it doesnt improve the level (right now it only effects levels 26 and below) then it is not worth it.. as it would only be good for a few more levels... But if it increases the level use until level 30+ then it would be worth it
Otherwise Im not sure which to pick... Signet of intuition would be nice with increased stats... Overwhelming silence would be neat for those pesky healers, and gloom ... not sure.. maybe nice for themore dmg to the dot?

A few things to consider when picking a trait:
- When is the next upgrade to that spell line? If you will get another upgrade in a few levels, probably not worth it because you will always be able to upgrade your new spell.
- Is the ability capped? You mentioned one of the spells only affects level 26 and below. After a while that spell will be useless.
- Are Illusionists part of the major combat upgrade coming? Not sure, but don't think so. Still something to look into.
- Any of the upgrades give mitigation effects? Good to debuff as you are killing.
And you have already made a smart observation about a spell that you frequently use. The training spells are Adept II quality so may increase your ability to make it stick.
A good spell is one that can keep the mob away from you, so Fascinate sounds like a good choice.
One last note, I picked up a racial trait spell at level 40 and it was my most powerful at that time. When I got to level 49 I got another spell that did the same thing at Adept 1 quality (L40 Adept II = L49 Adept 1). They both share the same re-use timer so unless I upgrade to Adept III, for now it doesn't matter which I use. Out of habit I use the old level 40 spell and it works fine.
By the way, that spell was the only one that stuck to Varsoon in RoV.
