So what's a respectable level in Everquest 2???

Level 30 adventurer? 40? or is 50 the level you gain respect?

What about crafting?

level 40? level 50?

Just curious. I dinged a level 40 carpenter and feel I actually have accomplished something compared to EQ1. But does that command respect from the other hardcore/casual players? Not that I care but was just curious....

I can only play an hour or so a night and took a 4 month break from eq2 back in January. Happy to be back.

Now that's funny.

I only place respect based on playing style and manners in chat.

A level 50 toon can mean anyone that grinds through quests and mobs to get gear and exp. But when you talk to him to group, you get something like, "OMFG, y00z are teh suxxoRz!!!1!!"

No thanks.

But when I'm with another player that knows how to play his class, is cheerful, helpful, mature, maybe has a quick sense of humor, that's someone I'll consider for my friends list - which I don't really populate anyway.

Smiley: lol I know what that means now! I must roxx0rz at the l33t!

Anyway, I agree with Tutan regarding adventure level. Level means nothing. I respect those that know how to play their class and respect me. You could be level 5 for all I care. Respect is earned, not given.

As for crafters, I respect the higher classes even if you happen to be a jagoff. It takes a lot of time and effort to reach the higher tiers of crafting. There is no easy way to 50 when you craft. It is truly a grind. If you have enough patience to sit in front of your chosen equipment for hours on end while the outside world is calling your name, then you definitely have my respect. I know how hard it is to sit there and have a crafting session. I love crafting, but it becomes very tedious, very quickly.

When I see a given toon out in the world, his level doesn't impress me... his gear doesn't impress me... his horse doesn't impress me... if he knows his class and drives his toon to the ragged edge of what is possible, that impresses me!

I was in a Varsoon group about a week ago and the tank was just about the best I have ever grouped with. She made my job, (I was MH), much easier because she never lost aggro. She was a stranger to us, (guild group except for her), but hung in there with us even after a wipe, (we were deep in the zone and taking on red targets > 6 levels above our average).

That was impressive.

With respect to crafting, (pun intended)... I gotta go with the above posters and say that yeah, anybody who hangs in there through the hell levels is dedicated enough to earn my respect!

Sometimes when you're crafting, you just KNOW that the RNG hates your guts!!!

I'm glad I am not the only one who thinks this. When you get nailed for 2 -durs in a row and then you try to counter by using the dur effects and it gives you -dur -prog you think, at that moment, that you would rather be drowning.
