Hey all..Dakster yelled at me for not posting../cry, so here you go.
My friend just recently had a problem with a quest and got all upity about it at me and go aggressive..Anyway, what do you guys think of the soloablity of the quests around 20..I told him that having more people would help but he got angry about that and said it would be just like FFXI waiting for people to help you do whatever...So, what are your guys/gals opinions on them..Quests that is..

I solo a LOT! and have been doing quests since lvl 1. My warden is currently just a hair under 33 so yeah, you should be able to solo many quests from 20 - 30.

Maybe not the AQ series or the heritage quests but most of them are no problem. In fact, when I log on and none of my friends are around, the first thing I do is check my quest journal and see what I can clean up!

There are heaps of solo quests for all levels. I very rarely just grind exp; everything I do is related to quests. If I kill something and there's no quest ding then something is wrong Smiley: smile

EQ2 is so different than FFXI - you cannot compare the two games. Other than parts of Heritage quests and some of the Armor quests, most quests can be soloed. You do NOT have to wait around for others to help you as you have to do in FFXI.

I cut and paste my response to a very similar question on another forum:

"Leveling by questing is the only way I play. I play with the combat xp bar turned on. I have 3 characters:

My paladin is level 35, 468 quests completed so far;
My dirge is level 20, 251 quests completed so far;
My bruiser is level 33, 394 quests completed so far.

The bruiser is part of a duo; the paladin and dirge solo.

I very rarely kill anything I don't need for a quest. Sometimes it can't be helped, aggro and such."

Hope that helps!! Smiley: smile

Just be careful to not let your combat/defensive skills stagnate and not raise with your level and the level of monsters around you.

Wouldn't want to get in a big fight and see, "You've gotten better at Slashing (2)" :)

Questing is a fun way to get around and gain levels. One of our guildmates grinded (or is it ground?) his way through the game, and after only a few months, completed 450+ quests. And that was BEFORE all the extra content was added.

I used to not look forward to entering a new zone. That would mean all the new quests would become available to me. And always having a full quest log didn't help eaither. :)

This morning before work, I logged on to see what quick business I could do and check the broker. I have 4 L&L quests from way back, and decided to just buy the parts from the broker. 5g later, 2 L&L quests done.

Being level 50 I no longer get adventure exp for accomplishing things, so I'm just cleaning up the house...which, by the way, is sporting 2 new L&L trophies. :)

Combat, defensive, magic and harvesting skills are always capped. I'm always fighting enemies, using all my abilities (and sometimes dying in the process).

I just meant that I don't kill enemies I don't need for a quest (unless they attack me first Smiley: wink ).

I usually turn off my combat exp. You miss so much by just levelling. 95% of my exp is derived from quest completion, I'm level 29 with 705 quests done. Another character I have is 40 with almost 600 quests but she never had her combat exp turned off.

Going back again to do quests when all the mobs are grey/etc. It's just not the same.

On that note, anyone care to finish off the Gobblerock quests? I'm stuck at the level 33 Epic, 'Gobbler' [it's not a turkey]
