I know on one of your other posts you said you could do this. How? Thanks.

Edit: Title was suppose to say activatables. Meh. Can't speel sometimes.

Easy as pie.

Once you equip something on your Inventory window, you can drag and drop it to your hotbar and it now becomes clickable from that spot.

It also establishes that spot on your hotbar as the "equipped item spot". Meaning, when you change and item in your equip-slot, it will automatically appear on your hotbar.

I frequently swap out a SoW totem, Splitpaw teleshard, and Manastone. Each time I swap, they appear in my hotbar, so no need to drag and drop anymore. :)

Also keep in mind this applies to any piece of equipment that has a activatable abillity.

I have a hotbar button for my Pristine Imbued Ring of Intelligence, which casts Flash of Intelligence, give a +10'ish INT buff. ALso got a button for my cedar wand which is a 250'ish DD, usable while running (no interupts).

Over time and the obtaining of cool gear, you may have to establish a new hotbar for all your clickable items so you can use them while fighting.

Thanks

Can you make a hotkey button for items that you don't have equipped in the activatable slot? For instance: I have a Bear Claw, a Hex of Fright and a Blood of Wolf. I currently have the claw and hex equipped. Is there a way I can use the Blood of Wolf without equipping it?

Edit: Hmmm...I think I answered my own question by reading a bit more into the post. So just tell me if I have this straight. I drag the two items I have equipped into the hotbar, equip the Blood of Wolf and then drag that and then re-equip one of my items and I should have all three in the slot. Does that sound right?

Unfortunately, no. You can use the item as long as it's somewhere on your body, not stuffed inside a bag.

Since you have only 2 "equip" slots, you can only have 2 of those kinds of items at the ready.

You may just have to equip the 1-time use Blood of the Wolf (aka SoW in a bottle) and use it, clearing out that slot. Then re-equip the other item and you are ready to go.

Regarding the Bear Claws (not the pastry) they are a stackable item so you can have more than 1 at the ready, as long as they are the same kind.

Unfortunately, no again. By dragging an item to your hotbar, you are only making a button for it, it doesn't come out of your equip slot. Kinda like making a shortcut to a file on your computer. If you remove something from your equip slot, the hotbar button will also disappear.

Bottom line, you can only have 2 buttons for the 2 equip slots of 2 items at the ready.
Not sure if that made sense.

Thanks again Tut. So much easier than opening your inventory, right clicking the item and hit use. Does it have a timer on it just like any other skill? By that I mean, it grays out and lets you know that you can re-use it in x amount of seconds.

Hehe. I know. Yeha. That made a lot of sense. Seeing it a shortcut makes it much easier to understand.

The timer depends on the item. I know my wand takes 8 seconds to cast, and I can't cast anything else during that time. Doesn't make it my first choice for combat, only for kiting or when OOM.

Don't know if it actually greys out though, I'll have to test it and report back. Pretty sure it does though. IF I try to click it again and the timer has not reset, I get a "Too early to cast" or something.

I do know that the maintained spells from clickable effects (like Flash of Int) does show the icon progressivly becoming grey as it slowly expires.

Mapped it to the bar last night. Much better. Is there a way to tell if it is still in effect on the mob? It doesn't have a duration.

Yes, you will see an icon show up on your Maintained Spells bar. If you mouse over it, you will see the duration of the spell counting down.

Not sure if the icon will also show the target. Other spells that I have do show the target, however.

"Map" - that's a good way to put it, at least for anyone that has had to re-map their shared drive after a "fix".

Make sure you also map your other items, rings, pants, etc.
