Dumb question, how do I make money? Legit money
For now I gather, harvest, etc etc.... but my stuff doesnt seem to sell well (10 copper last night /cry ).
I did a lot of quest in the city but that doesnt make me rich at all, when I see the prices at the broker I want to cry lol :)

Any help welcome =)

There are several ways to make money, but keep in mind there is no get-rich-quick scheme (if so, let me know):

The basic outline is that low levels get low money. As you get higher you will get more money. Patience is key.

- Quests: Do as many as you can stand. You will get some cash, equipment, weapons, maybe some furniture. Talk to all NPC's to get a quest. Some quest are repeatable, like Civil Service in North Qeynos. You'll get a few silver each time you complete it.

- Harvest: You may be able to sell roots and such to other crafters. Just have lots of space in your bags to carry around the extra junk. If you are lucky to find a rare component (you'll get a ding telling you), those can sell for 10g or more.

- Crafting: Certain items are valued more than others. Check out some of the related threads in this forum. Things that I always look to buy...spell upgrades, SoW totems, armor upgrades. I haven't found a need for high priced food in my adventures yet, I usually buy from the vendor in Zek.

- Loot Drops: Skins, rat tails, iron bars...You can sell those back to a vendor, or put up other items like Adept 1 books for sale on your own. A few good items to sell are those required for Heritage Quests...palladium torque, deer meat, etched hide plate, etc. That might take some research to dig out components. I just dropped 5 gold for some recipie components for the Manastone HQ, and dropped 1p75g for a Palladium Torque for another HQ.

So in the mean time, do the quests. That will get you armor and weapons enough to survive, and the money will eventually come. :)

Some common harvest items are more valuable than others...

Everyone needs roots since they are used to craft all the WORTs. So, they tend to be a little more valuable. (You might also try crafting the WORTs themselves and selling them on the broker.)

Some raw food items - especially those used to make drinks, (like oranges and vanilla in tier 2), and also the "spice" in each tier tend to be more valuable.

Also, you should never leave home to go adventuring or harvesting without a wholesaler quest. These are always for 15 of some common harvest item and are worth decent coin. (about 12 silver in T2 & 48 silver in T3)

There are also some repeatable quests that you can use to grind out a little coin along with the experience. For example, as Tutan mentioned, the guard at the top of the stairs leading Qeynos Castle will task you to kill rats, beetles and snakes for 10 silver a time. This quest is repeatable and the vermin are right outside the North gate. Since you'll probably be right there for the XP anyway, you might as well get paid to kill the critters!

I don't know what level you are but, if you have time, I have found a viable way to make money at lvl 11. I say lvl 11 because the mobs you will be farming turn grey at 12 and are pretty tough, though doable, at lower levels. It goes along with what Tutan was saying about loot drops. Adept 1 spell scrolls and rare recipe books will net you some nice coin on the broker. IMO, there is no better place than the Oakmyst Forest for finding these drops at lower levels. I shot from about 20s to 50g in two days. The ++Oakmyst Spiders drop a chest at about (and this isn't proven, just my calcs) a ratio of 5:1, and they respawn rather regularly. I would have stayed there for a lot longer, but you have to move on eventually. I have an alt out there farming the heck out of them right now.

Other than this, the above posts will definitely get you some coin. Also, the Far Seas Req quests (dropped pretty regularly in Antonica) are good for coin, too and are repeatable.

Good luck!

Hello, thank you for your answers.
I totally forgot.. I am level 20 and 8, I mostly play my 20 scout.
I found a palladium cluster last time.

For now I am killing mobs... and haversting :) lol

I would love to party but I looked the LFG toggles, they were 5 :/ nobody in my level range. I am used to play with a larger community ( I also play WoW) so thats a big change.
