Coming to EQ2Follow

My buddy at school has been making me consider joining EQ2, and all i can think of is how much of a grinder it is.......for about a year and 6 months i played SWG and groaned and moaned about it being broken, never getting new content, and always feeling like i was paying SOE $14 bucks for nuffin every month when my my tkm/fencer pwned everything...i got bored and started grinding ever profession till i ahd done it all and then quit cause i was tired of running a big fat juicy dancer buff bot all day.

So when WoW and EQ2 came out months and months ago.......i salvated ove rit...then i changed my mind like a crackhead and went back to my SWG...then i tried World of Warcraft and like dit...i'm pretty hooked to it now, but i was wondering if i should get Eq2 just for the sake of having tried it, my opinion given to me via Game Informer was that EQ2 was a pure grinder game, and it wasnt as up to snuff with just being easy to get into and allot of fun for 30 minute players and 60 hour grinders alike like WoW was.

But i'm gonna try it anyway. what i was telling my friend was if i played, i just wanted to be a Hot Dark elf chick who just lives SOLELY to dish out damag, take it and deal out even more, it's what i wanna do.

The problem is picking between Fighter classes....i want to know what the drawbacks are of being a Berserker.

I know it has to do with style, and the style i want is hardcore, rushing headlong into a fight with 30 giant scorpions or lava giants and holding my own me and my big *** axe or sword or whatever, while someone sits back and wittles away at my target or whatever they like so long as i can kick ***. Which type of Fighter should i get?

Does the game require more grinding then wow yeah sure does but not the way you have been lead to believe. As for content for any amount of time.. the solo game has been greatly expanded and with the last adventure pack ( splitpaw saga) even if you only have 30 mins you always have something to do. As for content we have had 12 live updates and 2 adventure packs they update this game more then any I have ever played.

If you want pure dps then fighter class may not be what you want. There is an up coming combat change that is going to lower tanks dps a bit and make the roles more tank based then dps based. As a berseker you will find that your role will be to main tank. If that doesn't interest you then I would not even go with a fighter class.

Tell us more about your play style and we can work on getting you some more information..

Well like most games you can grind or not grind depends on your style. Sure some people like to grind leveles till they are maxed out and then whine when they get there that they have nothing to do, hear em everyday. Some of us like the to PLAY the game not grind it.

As for running into 30 mobs and living any longer then your healer has power well thats another story. Sure 30 gray mobs 15 to 20 levels below your level maybe. But 30 mobs 2 levels to even cons you would ahve a fight and a tuff one with out a good group. If they where reds well you would just be dead Hehehehe.

I know I played SWG for 3 months and it was a pretty lame game, they may have made it better but would not go back anyhows.

my style is just have fun with the game, sometimes its fun to just go adventuring in groups and stuff. ive been in 20s for ages and i have loads to do every time i play the game. but my friend plays eq2 and hes just a grinding machine, hes quite higher than me already, but i dont mind. sometimes its cool to be able to have things like fulginate and ebon armor. yeah i guess it does all depend on style.

also, i find that if youre just grinding and not having fun, then thats the problem.
