So instead of asking a bunch of dumb questions i thought, hey why not try the demo!? So i have everything downloaded, and now i can't get in to the game. I can create characters, but when i try to enter the world with them, the loading screen shows up everything aparently loads, then when it's done with that i'm returned to the charcter selection screen. Any ideas of what's wrong? Should i just give up and buy the game?

Sounds like it might be a technical issue, you better post your PC specs. Plenty of people here who can advise you with that Smiley: smile

No point in buying the game if you can't get into the trial.

Pc specs shouldn't be the problem, seeing as i can do everything, but i just keep getting sent to the damn character select screen. But anyways my specs are: amd athlon 64 3500+, 1 gig ram, ati radeon 9800+, 180gb of space (170 free space)

It might have been becasue that particular server was down. Try going to a different server and see what happens.

Do you have your firewall turned off? EQ2 needs lots of ports open.

I have tried the following, as informed by soe techs:
-turning off all firewalls--- did not fix problem
-configuiring my router (an smc7004vbr) for opening proper ports -did not fix problem
-disabled antivirus - did not fix problem
-not use a router- i did not do this because every other game i have played worked with the router. I played ffxi and wow and they both worked fine.
-one employee used my trial account and told me it should work fine.- this resulted in me getting very angry, since there troubleshooting was getting away from what the problem was.

I guess i'm not fit to play eq2, since it won't even let me connect to a server with the trial. although i would really like to, but i guess the everpusher doesn't want me to be on his evercrack ; ;

If you can make it to the character selection/creation screen, the game engine is probably ok.

Have you tried creating another Sony Station account and going ahead with that?

It does sound as if the servers are simply unable to login your characters. So your ID's been banned [and Tech Support would see the flag in glowing red letters] or you have an application blocking access to apparently all the servers.

Did the techs at least have you try a tracert to the server [you'll always failed to ping the final gateway but that's because ping's disabled] to at least see if you're actually able to connect to them.

Well, it seems that my router is the problem. Unfortunately i'm stuck using my router, and i don't have $100 for a new one and eq2 and a gamecard.(i only just got my first paycheck this summer, and owe people money.) i
am going to try dling a new trial and starting up a new account. It could be that something was just currupt the last time i dled it. i'll post if i get a positive result.
