city tasks & status pointsFollow

#1 Jul 18 2005 at 2:40 AM Rating: Decent
I am newly guilded and would like to start doing quests for status points. Can anyone fill me in on the different Qeynos factions and what I gain by helping one or the other out. Also, are the quests repeatable?

I'm not looking for a list of who to talk to to get the quests, (I have that), I need a general overview of how status point farming works!

Also, are the trade skilling tasks, (handed out at the Ironforge estate), for status points or just for money?

Thanks!

(edited because I thought of another question!)

All City faction writs are repeatable, but you can only have one writ per writ giver at a time.

Even without being a patron, you can still earn a status title with any particular faction, and gain a ton of Status points in the process. I get somewhere in the range of 3000 personal status per writ from doing lvl30-34 writs in Zek.

At the Ironforge estate, not only do you earn status for completing your tradeskill writ for them, but you also get a cash reward. As far as I can tell, they are the only city faction to give both rewards, except tradeskill instances, which give 100 personal for every collection task you complete plus the cash reward.

My only piece of advice is to pick a faction you want to work with from the beginning, and stick with it. I made the mistake of doing my as many low lvl writs as I could get, and really messed up my faction with everyone. I am now working on Qeynos Guard only, have done about 100+ writs consecutively for them, and still have not gotten my first title (but I know I'm close :)

Welcome to the wonderful world of writs OBD. Have fun with them.

PS I tried doing a link for you, listing all te Qeynos factions, but I can't seem to get it to stick. Check the SOE forums under Guilds and there is a lot of great info regarding the factions and benefits.

Blue, I take it this means that you joined the guild that did the "fly-by" invite? I am still curious to the good reasons they listed for recruiting in such a manner.

Now for the quests. Try
for the Ultimate quest checklist. The writs are listed as city tasks. You need to download the list and will need Excel spreadsheet or a helper to open the files.
