Horse/Mount requirements?Follow

#1 Jul 14 2005 at 2:11 PM Rating: Decent
What are the requirements for riding a horse or flying carpet? Fopr example are there race or class boundaries? And what level do you have to be if any? And finally, i've seen mounts with different "tiers". What are these and how do you gain tier ranks?

PS- What do the Pally and ShadowKnight mount spells do? Are they single use horses?

Thanks

All classes get a special spell at level 20, for Pallies and SK's, it's a horse.

Any race or class can have any mount; they automatically scale to size.

Some mounts require your guild to be a certain level plus an amount of plat and status you don't want to know about Smiley: eek

The different tiers refer to the "quality" of the mount. The higher the tier, the faster the horse runs. And the more it costs.

The speeds are tier 1 = 24% increase, tier 2 = 32% increase and tier 3 = 40% increase and a tier 4 = 48% increase.

The Pally/SK horse is only good for a 10% speed increase (I think). It is a fluff spell... almost a freebee and not meant to be a "viable alternitive to a "real" horse.

As far as requirements... the only one is - if you can afford the mount, you can ride it!

The paladin/sk horse USED to be a high-speed way to travel without SOW or Jboots, but they nerfed it down to 10%. Heh..I remember racing a shammy one time and actually winning...

How fast is SOW?

SoW is 20% increase and the pre-order J-Boots are good for a 10% increase. The "real" J-Boots (quested) are faster, but I don't know how much faster.

I think they are 36% but maybe wrong on that.
