DirectX Error after pressing PLAY. (IsleofTrial)Follow

#1 Jul 13 2005 at 7:29 PM Rating: Decent
Hello, I am getting this error right after I choose PLAY:

"[I dont remember exactly what was here]DirectX9RenderDevice.cpp(1556): DirectX Error. (D3DERR_DriverInternalError)"

I have looked on the official forums and have seen the thread concerning DirectX errors, and I have done what the thread says to do except for the firewall part... after I installed the nForce drivers (standalone kit) and rebooted the PC did something else (not sure what, but I didnt see it installing anything) and asked to be rebooted again... so I did.

I still get the error after all of that.

eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=tech_support&message.id=86623&view=by_date_ascending&page=1

I am on dialup, I do not use the nForce onboard LAN card, I have an nForce2 mobo (not an nForce4), and I do not have any kind of nVidia networking items in my Add/Remove programs (this is talked about in the thread too).... I have also disabled the onboard LAN card.

I read that the SOE customer reps will tell you differently on how to solve the problem by deleting EQ2 files and using a specific driver for something (not sure what), but since I am trying to play the demo/trial I am not sure if they would even help me.

Please dont move this to the tech forum, I would like to let EQ2 players read this and to post if they heard other ways around this... thanks.

(btw... I cant post on the official forums because I have not registered a game through station.com)

any help is greatly appreciated. THANKS
