Is their a way to put money into the shared bank?

I went to make a trader last night and was about to drop a few gold into the shared bank for the basics when I realized that their was no slot for shared coin.

Am I missing something? Whats the point of having a trader if you can't give the coin from the sold items back to the toons who need it?

The last thing I want is a ton of stuff filling up the bags of my useful toons.

There is no way to transfer money through the shared bank at this time, but you could always mail it from one toon to the other... Money does go through the mail.

Just the fact that you asked this, suggests you need a short tutorial on using the mail:

Every suburb of your city has a mailbox, called the Norrathian Express. it lets you mail items (1 item or stack of identical items at a time) for 50 coppers, or money (any amount and combination of coppers through platinum) for 10 coppers. Attaching money alongside an item is still just 50 coppers total.

Where is the mailbox? Its different for each suburb. In Qeynos, Castleview, its just outside the inn, look right and forward 5 meters its right there. In Qeynos Harbor, from the harbor cross the bridge and head towards south Qeynos -- its on your left, next to the inn, about 8 meters from the bridge. If you're in Freeport, I think you only send mail to other Freeporters, but I'm not sure.

I can't for the life of me understand why anyone would want a Freeport toon anyway, so my advice there is just attack a guard and maybe you'll awake near a mailbox. If not, either way evil was set back a notch, and I'm up for that :)) (maybe kidding here)

Anyway, you can mail your other toons, which is safer than handing items and coin to other people to "hold" for you while you switch guys. One thing I've noticed, it takes several minutes for the item to arrive. So, with my 2 accounts and 7 people, sending items back and forth by mail had me waiting 20, sometimes 30 minutes for the item to arrive, even if I log off and on frequently. Just have patience, it will be there within the hour for sure.

You'll get a notification of mail waiting for you in your maintained spells window, right above food/water effects. It's hard to miss, so logging in will immediately let you know if mail is waiting. It's a good way to send things to people that are offline (not only your toons, but anyone). Mail can sit unopened for 28 days or so before it is auto-deleted.

You of course can write text as well, subject to the 10 copper minimum, 50 copper maximum postage cost.

OK, so now you're set to GO POSTAL!! YeeHaw

You can't mail between Qeynos and Freeport. But then you also don't have a shared bank between the two cities. I wish there were some way of sending mail between the cities. Maybe special postage rates and sent from the bird towers? That would be nice.

I am sure Sony has a perfectly logical reason for this prohibition on inter-mail.

I think it is because they want to maintain a sort of segregation between the "good" and "evil" sides of the game. They have limited the area of overlap to a pair of "black market" merchants - one on each side. And you pay an additional premium, (40%) for this service.

Of course you can always meet up with someone in the open areas between the cities and exchange goods, but the cities themselves only welcome their own citizens.

The only other way to move material goods between the two worlds is to do the betrayal quest and that is a one way trip!

BTW Zoo - I believe you can send mail between FP and Q you just can't attach money or items.

Hopefully it will stay that way. Sony has been doing a good job of bending to players complaints and making everything easy.

Challenge is good.

To be fair it is a bit daft not being able to transfer gold using the shared bank, where as you can with items.
yeah you can argue send it via the mail system, but if you need something from the broker stright away, it may be gone in 20-30mins after the gold has had time to go through. on the other hand get your alt with all the cash to buy it :P but still, should be able to put money into the shared bank, or even house vault.
