I am a lvl 13 scholar, and the last 2 TS quests I have been given require me to make items from the lvl 10 outfitters recipe book. Anyideas how I go about this, or even if I can, and where I would find the book I need for the iron splike recipe?

I am not sure about the Level 10 outfitters book, but the iron spike recipe comes from Geomancy Essentials (Volume 1 I think - examine the book before you purchase it in case it's Volume 2). The Geomancy book(s) can be purchased at your wholesaler.

You can get the outfitters book by having a friend or alt that is an outfitter go to the second tier crafting basement and purchase it there. Though that may have been nerfed ina previous patch...but there isnt the need to go to this much trouble as long as you buy the geomancy book. However, the outfitter book gives you the recipe for the metalworking version of iron spike, which takes one less fuel- might save a few copper in the long run. Geomancy tends to use two fuels, where the metalworking version only takes one. Choice is up to you..
