Ok I took some advise from the eq2 boards from here
http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=splitsaga&message.id=4452

It says:

Just wanted to start a thread to give a heads up to everyone of what I discovered this afternoon - That it is the CREATURES (including the Crates in the Hideout) that allow you to advance to get your GLOWING SHARD - NOT the quests that parrallel accomplishing this. So to be clear, I did 3 things and only 3 things to get my glowing shard:

* KILLED THE SOLO ARENA CHAMPION

* KILLED THE FINAL BOSS GUY IN HARCLAVE (it was the killing of the guy that help with Trust, not completing the quest itself)

* DESTROYED ALL 10 CRATES IN THE HIDEOUT IN ONE SINGLE INSTANCE (not going back multiple times to get all 10)

The key for me was to finally try out the 3rd option - Previously I had always gone in and done the DESTROY THE CRATES Quest in multiple instances (i.e. I would go in and destroy 5, then 5 more, but I had never done all at once). I couldn't figure out what was going on and thought I was bugged, but the second I destroyed all 10 crates (including the 2 hidden ones behind the cracked walls), boom, I got my Glowing Shard. To be clear, I did NO OTHER QUESTS with this guy.

I also want to clarify that I was carrying both a DARK AZURE SHARD and the new "slightly glowing" shard on me. A lot of people have been speculating that this was what was preventing them from moving forward, but now I'm guessing that a lot of people may have just not done the CRATES/HIDEOUT one correctly (i.e. destroying all 10 crates in the same instance).

I got my shard and here are the 4 spells for each class that are available after doing this.

Hope this helps!!!

I am glad that you got your shard that way ; however i think there are multiple ways to get it because I got mine and :

-I did not beat the Harclave zone, neither did i even entered it ;

-I got slaughtered in the solo arena ;

-I however did the crates.

So in my humble opinion, i think that what you need to do depends on what you first do. In other words, there are both ways, from what ive seen, to get your shard. You either clear the solo areas such as solo arena, the solo part of hideout and Harclave (btw plan a couple hours for this one, this is a long but fun one to do), or you clear 4-5 of the group ones. Because i got my shard doing :

-the group part of the hideout (you take the left turn);

-I cleared the crawlers nest and beat the queen ;

-I cleared the group arena (several times for master drops :));

-I also did the water quest thingy, which leads me to think that the arena didnt count in the process, or you do have to make 5 group quests to get your shard.

--I also did the broken terraporter quest, where you and all the members of your party get teleported to a different corner of a zone and you have to gather in the middle to clear the heroics and get the nameds to pop. I got my shard after killing the named that popped there.

I may be wrong, but from all that i read and experienced through this zone, including for me and other guildies, thats the conclusion that i have been to. You either clear the solo or group quests, but a bit of each wont get you your shard.

Have fun !!

Yea definatly not the only way to do it, but I thought I'd share a 100% proven way. I was having trouble before this and that teleport to the Den is so handy!
