At some point, maybe one of the sites will come up with some 3rd party in-game mapping as was available in EQ.

They already have! I use this and it works great. It even auto updates itself as new things are added. You just install the EQ2MAP program and run it instead of your regular EQ2 shortcut. It will update all your maps and then run EQ2 for you.

Don't think that's a bug, I think it's exactly what you said. You have reached your max harvest skill ability that the current zone can give, and the current zone stuff won't give you any more skill-ups, even though you will continue to get stuff.

Actually, the zone as a whole has not become trivial for me yet. I will get that message until I reach the point in my level where my maximum skill level increases. You get 5 skill points per level, available at 0, 20, 40, 60 and 80% (I'm pretty sure). Then I'll get a skill-up and it goes back to saying it's trivial again. It should be telling me I've reached my level cap for that skill, if anything.

It's noticable to me becasue I'm usually harvesting and killing at the same time and my level is appropriate for the zone (EL or Zek). I've been seeing this since I started in those zones with harvest skills around 160 up until now when they're around 190 and still rising.

This matches my own experience. Instead of just letting you jump up 5 points at or near the beginnning of each level, EQ2 doles out the points to you one at a time - every 20% of the level.

This holds true for all skills, not just foraging... difference is you don't "trivialize" casting or combat skills. But it does stay in the flavor of their whole mini-ding concept.

I agree with you here too but I think it's just a matter of convenience for them... They really need 2 unique messages and the code to determine who gets which... they only have one message and everyone gets it!
