UI problems..Follow

OK, here's one fer ya..!! I stopped playing EQ2 for a couple of months and then came back to it earlier this week. Everything worked like normal (took 9 mins to upload all the new stuff) and then clicked on the 'PLAY' button when it came up. So far, no problem. Then I get to the character select screen (I have two chars) and clicked on my main and all is still going well. however, as soon as it gets to the 'UI (whatever it is)' screen, it locks up. You can hear the surrounding environment, chars walking by you, etc., but there is no getting into the game AND it took my router offline (I have a wireless). Now, before someone goes and says my stuff is all goofed up, let me say that this setup worked flawlessly a couple of months ago! Did the powers that be at EQ do something that I should be aware of??

OK..call me a dummy, but how do I delete the UIs..??
