Im a Lv.9 fighter and currently i dont have the funds to buy a axe or greataxe from any of the shops i've found in freeport i was curious if anyone knew of any quests i could do to get one in or around freeport thanks in advance.
wait for your level 10, and then get a basic iron weapon you can find them on any weaponsmith of the cultural zones like stonestair byway, big bend etc.
You can finance it by doing wholesaler task they reward with a couple silver each. Also, if i were you id just make every quest i find until i get a decent weapon as a reward and it will give you some money with it.
