have two level 30's and still don't know...

Can Dirge and Swashbucklers use swords, and 2 handed swords?

saw on sony's offical website showing a swash use a 2 handed sword and made me think it might be some decent DPS

thanks

All scout classes may use swords.

However, they do not develop sword skills as fast as the fighter classes.

Hope this helps.

A 2 hander will always output more than a one hander or even a pair of dual wield weapons on a "per swing" basis -but- the dual wield combo will always be much faster... and more swings will give you more chances for weapon procs and poison procs. This is what really pumps up your damage output.

For this reason, I tend to go with a pair of imbued DW blades for any scout.

I agree with OBD - 2 pristine imbued weapons coupled with a good poison and any proc buffs your castsrs in group can give you will do some pretty insane damage, even if the proc is a low damage amount. Just watch the aggro Smiley: yippee

Now, there do seem to be some mobs that actually have some type of "damage resistance" where if you don't do at least "X" damage, then they are immune to the attack and all associated effects of the attack (i.e. the procs don't even hit). Its times like that you may wish to keep a 1 handed weapon on hand just so you still can do something during battle.

As for 2-hd swords, according the Prima Guide for EQ2, it says that scouts cannot use 2 handed, of course prima has been known to be wrong often so your best bet is to check it out, and also things can change as they go up in levels.

But really, what swashbuckler uses a 2 handed weapon? They use a rapier and a main-gauche (spelt wrong I know).
