I keep reading things on the forums and sometimes people say you have to do the quest when you're a certain level and other times people say you can farm items at any level. Thing is i dont understand the drop system.. am i missing something or is there some sort of different drop system to EQ1 with EQ2? Dont know if i'm putting this properly.. Will items that drop off a certain mob drop regardless of their con to you or does it not matter what con they are?

If a mob cons grey to you, it will no longer drop "treasure chests" for you. However, it will still drop things like goblin eye, meat or skins. If you are "farming" for tradeskill components, you can whack any level critter and find what you're looking for. If you are out there treasure hunting, the mob has to con at least green to drop what you are looking for.

So say you're sitting around trying to get a weapon to drop off a mob that spawns in a certain place - he has to be green to you to get it to drop right? Or have i missed something important?
Since weapons drop in chests and not from the mobs themselves, (at least I've never seen one), then yes - the mob will need to be green because chests don't drop from gray mobs.
