Hello:

Actually, when I installed the game (purchased CD during business trip to UK), it explained I must choose either USA server set OR EU server set, and if I needed to switch I'd have to copy a subset of the game and run the game from the new directory. Fine.

But now I can't find via search the instructions, either within game, here, or at Sony's Support FAQs. Neither can I search using key words Europe UK USA "server select" or launchpad. Grrrr. I may be daft, but I've been building using programming PCs since 1983. Its possible I've used PCs longer than the average age of users in this forum. BUT -- the dratted list of folders is not in help.

Does anyone switch between EU and USA servers? I'd expect nearly identical steps for Test vs Live server. I was hoping not to have to copy every last file to a new directory, but that its really just launchpad and possibly .ini files used by EQ2. Ideas, clues, flames? Call me newb, just call me...

The motivation is half my weekday playing time happens exactly during the daily server reboot in Europe; by the time the server comes up again its already 9 AM here, and thus my work day started. I currently get up at 5:45 AM just to get time online before the system dies at 7 AM sharp (I'm GMT+2), and I seldom have time after work, when my wife would appreciate some attention (and our baby). Thus... EU server boots dont work well for me. I'm a solo / casual player anyway, but I pay the same as anyone else.

Maybe I'm just looking at this from a very simplistic point of view but why wouldn't you just log out and reselect at the launchpad when you want to change?

I was very dissapointed when they split the UK from the US servers. I had created characters on one server. It was a real nuissance not seeing all my servers or characters. I understand the idea but think that Sony has dropped the ball here. I rarely, if ever, knock Sony, so you know this bugs me.

So far as I can tell, the option is removed from me. Maybe I'm going blind. I'd be happy to select at launchpad, and toggle it manually. Bit failing that, I need to be able to switch.
