Im thinking of making a zerker and im curious to know when im looking for a group would groups pick me up only to be the tank or would a group actually pick me up regularly as a dps? If thats the case which of the fighter class's is more accustomed to being picked up as a dps role rather than a tank role?

my zerker is currently level 47 and 99 percent of the time i get in group its to tank.

if your looking for a dps class may i suggest any of the scout paths.

chanters are good too allthough not a dps class i myself find them a must have for a good group that wants to get more for there time.

hey, currently 47 zerker here and for the most part i am choosen as MT for grouping. then i get in group and invite people to /join parser where i post results of parser for each battle. then everyone realizes zerks are just as good dps and any other class out there. we dont get choosen as dps too much(unless group is desperate) because people cant think outside the box. they think plateclass=low dps. now of course these are general statements and there are excepttions. but for the most part we are tanks

Zerkers rock! I started a Berserker to help some friends that were new to eq2 level up to my main. Now my Zerker is the same level as my um...main...that's collecting dust. I was playing a Warlock. My Zerker did enough dps to make feel like I was making an impact, and tanking is just plain fun. I like the challenge of holding agro from the dps classes. It added a whole new aspect of the game to me.

I'm the main tank 99% of the time. But when I get a chance to move to dps, Zerkers have a ton of interrupts, stuns, and AE attacks. Plus you're a hell of an assist tank if your guardian is having trouble. Zerkers can pull single agro very well. Make sure you get a Shiny Brass Halbred.
