Hey all,

I currently have a 26th lvl Ranger, duel wielding. I have been going over my damage results to see if new gear is needed or a change in my fight strategy when I noticed something peculiar. Since Sony is nice enough to give damage estimates on our combat skills, I have been trying to do a comparison with them. One that in particular was noticable is Shadow Lunge. I have this at Adept I and the skill itself lists for doing damage of approx 250 - approx 400 (dont have exact numbers with me). Yet, when I use this in combat, I often hit for 150 but have seen up to 280, depending on the MOB.

Now, here is the meat of the question. The damage that is shown to me, is that damage after the MOB has used its mitigation? Also, what determines the true damage I can do with a skill? I have yet to find a calculation order that EQ2 uses and when the numbers are reported for the fight.

I beleive the numbers in the abilities are before mitigation, on my dirge after I use a few mental debuffing attacks I have had mental attacks hit for more then what the description lists.
