More hotkeys?Follow

#1 May 09 2005 at 8:02 AM Rating: Decent
Hi all, new player here... 14 predator heading toward assassin:) I was curious is there a way to get more hotkeys than the normal 12? Maybe another bank for 1-12?

And are macros for like assist and such done the same as in eq1?

Thanks much..

Right click -> open new hotbar

Pressing k will open your spells/skills window. Drag the hotkeys where you want them. (I wish we could fix the hotbars in place once they are setup, the number of times i get a bit of lag and ive dragged the flippin box halfway across the screen - slight exaggeration i spose)

Never played eq1, but macro's as follows:

/assist <name>
/gsay Assisting %t

other usefuls:
: ; useability <ability name>
: ; toggleautoattack

Having multiple hotbars can be useful, but often I just access the other levels with Shift 1-10. So shift 2 brings up the second bank. Shift-3 third..etc. Then you can group your hotkeys depending on activity. Put your bow attacks all on one bank, melee on a seperate one. And a buff set on even another. It appears to work well so far, since an additional bar on the screen will require you to press <alt> or <control>. It really is whatever feels best since it will become second nature.

I know it has been addressed in previous threads, but I must say, making a macro for restealthing and backstab is very useful and I am able to kick off about 4 in a fight.

:;toggleautoattack
:;useability shrouded strike
:;useability shadowblade

Very useful Ranger macro. Now if I could only figure out how to handle the timers to pick a diff skill if the one I need is not reset yet.

You can also change the shape of your hotbars which will help them fit better in the space you want them to fit in.

I tend to make all mine into 2 shorter rows of 6 buttons instead of one long row of 12. You could even change one into a long virtacle row if that's what you wanted.

Just drag and adjust the shape like you would any other window.
