I've never played a shadow knight, but I think you'd be ok soloing. They've recently added a lot of solo and duo content for everyone.

Shadowknights (and pallys)are very good Solo'rs. We get Wards and heals, high AC/hp and we do great damage. You'll have no solo'ing issues.

To be honest since SOE went through and weakened alot of the mobs anyone can solo.

It's kind of sad really... i bought this game to grp- if i wanted to solo i would be playing World of warcraft.

I still don't see what people are worried about with this soloing issue. On my server there are people LFG right from the trial of the isle all the way through all the Qeynos zones and into Antonica, all day, every day, and the LFG people only go up from there.

Plenty of group and solo content, just have to find the right area for each. A perfect balance. If I wanted a forced group game i'd go back to EQ 1 or go play Final Fantasy. In todays changing market, soloing even in MMORPGs is desired by many casual fans who like the option to group or solo and love the immersive and dynamic content found in a live MMORPG verses a solo offline game.

There still has never been an offline game as huge or as immersive as any MMORPG (even morrowind bored me and was small compared to any MMORPG). That's what I always say to those that say "why do you play an MMORPG if you're going to solo, go buy an offline single player game."

I played WOW but it didn't really measure up for me in the long run and the technical issues with my computer and patching got to be too much. I switched to EQ 2 and found it is both deep and solo friendly, at least so far, and those are 2 big pluses. They made a good decision to provide a lot of solo content, IMHO.

There is a very important distinction between soloing in EQ2 and in WoW, you cannot tell someone if they want to solo go into wow, wow isnt just soloing its soloing without ever fighting anything challenging, and then when you group, the opposition is non-existant.

Personnally i like what they did about solo content in EQ2, there is still plenty of group content, more than the population can actually kill so there is no problem finding hunting ground or groups. But now when you dont find a group like me when i play at 3am or 5 am, i can go around do some soloing even tho my class isnt very much suited for it.

Like above poster said, they found a balance, people used to complain that eq1 forced them to group even tho i gotta say it never bothered me, now if you prefer to group you can and if you prefer soloing you can also, soloing tho is much slower on exp than grouping which is the perfect balance.
No more bard running around hoarding a full zone to themselves :)

I've found I can actually solo as a "cleric"/priest and a "rogue"/predator, which were classes that I had difficulty soloing effectively in EQ1.
The thing that stands out the most to me about EQ2 is that the quests (at least until level 20 where I am now) are worth doing, I get a decent amount of XP for the time I spent. And almost all the quests I've tried below level 20 can be done solo.

I have a really good time soloing with my druid>Fury. I guess it depends on personal preference. My dps isn't that great but I can still hold my own... my problem is being 'Queen Ambition' and trying to take out ^^heroics too close to my lvl (heh). I always like to push the envelope to see just how many mobs I can solo at once etc. and sometimes it gets me in trouble, but that's my own fault! Overall I'd say Furies do ok if you want a class that can solo and heal as well ;) ... again, it's your own personal preference I suppose. Good luck!

A quick question about this. I dropped EQ2 a while back to due to lack of solo content and total wash of game mechanics. Did they ever get around to fixing the fatally flawed classes, like SK's and Bards? If they managed to get the DPS and spell issues worked out, I would be interested in looking into it again.

Lots of new solo mobs, lots of new solo dungeon instances.

Don't know about the bad mechanics, it's worked from the start and has gone through some changes.

Some class balance has occured, but in the form of fixing broken spells/skills/items. The next Live Update is supposed to address caster issues among other things. Considering the game is only 6 months old, it is in surprisingly good shape with a large amount of content.

Perfect? No game is perfect. Fun to play? Definately.

Here's a thought in regards to grouping against the now solo mobs...

So many people are worried about maximizing their exp per kill and I just don't see the point...

Lets say that due to weakened mobs, you now had to kill 150 or even 200 mobs instead of 100 to gain a level. Doesn't that also mean that you'll be seeing 150% to 200% more loot and chests?

I just don't see a down side there... but then I'm not in a race to get to lvl 50... in fact I'm not in any hurry to get to 30!!!

The solo content is nice, if you dont have time for a group you can still do qsts and fight as you go, and if you want to group there is group content and the thougher mobs to fight. I can do what I choose.

I have a 29 Dirge, and havent encountered any of the problems yet, the only spell problems I am aware of so far is some spells the adeptI version does the same thing as the APPI, but I dont waste my money on those spells since they were seldom used ones anyway, but I do beleive they should be fixed soon.
