Initially they're opening just one Exchange server. Additional servers will be opened according to demand. In the future there will also be a character transfer service to Exchange servers but you will take only Attuned and No Trade items. No coin. Obviously to stop farmers.

In a way, I was a bit surprised to see how many people are against it. The way SoE is going at this full steam ahead, I almost expected to see that the majority wanted it.
Maybe one server is all it will take. And it will either stall there, or fizzle out.

I think they are gung-ho about it to promote it to others who may buy it and play in the future. The ones concerned with time sink potential. It is a future marketing plan.
Well 1 on 4 people wants to play on these server, so there is definetly a market.
Thats more than pvp server on eq1 and defenitly more than legend server.

True, one-quarter of their player base is a lot (1/4 of 750,000 is 187,500 accounts).
And that many accounts would definately fill more than 2 servers. So the overflow will go...

Doesn't automatically follow that all of those people will want to transfer to another server though.
It's interesting one third are in favour of it. That's exactly the percentage they got from the poll of EQ1 players last year.
