Wow, went back to EQ2 today.

Couple things I noticed, I've been gone a while so please fill me in.

What's this plague thing? If I get it what does it do, and how can you get rid of it?

How do I sell while I'm offline? Does it do it automatically?

Where is everyone???? The server was like...empty today. No one in the scale yard at all, it was weird. (on Lucan D'Lere) did I pick a bad time or has it really de-populated that much? There's almost no newbie gear to be found :P ouch.

The plague is a new "Live Event." It doesnt really do anything but annoy you by turning you green and making you puke on everyone. Sure it was kind of funny at first but it got old fast. There's a quest to find a cure but not all servers have finished it yet.

To sell offline you need to put items in your house vault and use your market board to set prices. It'll be up for 24 hours. Entering your room resets the 24 hour timer and gives you the money you've earned while away.

And I'm not on the D'Lere server so I cant help you there. =)

On innothule I've noticed that the popluation has migrated fairly quickly to the upper end of the game. Antonica regularly has 2 instances...

This afternoon Thundering steepes had two as well.

however, oakmyst forest - which used to be up to 4+ is usually 1

Hm... I was just expecting more alt characters maybe. Then again I just came from WoW where it is CROWDED. Even on the Horde side... probably a combination of less low level players and used to such high population.

Plague sounds icky.

A vault? Hm do I buy that? I didn't really look around my house to see if I already had one.

Once you are inside your house, double click on the door, then select house vault (bottom right I believe).

Its two slots. Put two boxes or bags in there and fill them up with items.

Then when you click on your market bulletin board, you will have a tab for vault merchandise and can set prices. Anything in the vault will remain for sale for 24 hours.

As far as population, even I have to admit that people are quitting in droves. My guild went from about 20 friends, to about 5. Everyone of the people knows someone else in the guild in real life, but when one quit, and then 2 more, a whole bunch quit over the last week or so.

Yes, the population is getting higher in level, but I've never seen 2 zeks or 2 ELs, so I'm not really buying that theory. There's still rarely a 2nd TS, but that used to be very common and is now rare.

So if its just an "aging" population, you'd expect there to be two of the higher instances, and that's just not so.

I really like this game, and can't figure out what people's issue is. I love the quests and such, but my friends that have quit hated them. Oh well.

As many should probably know by now. I tend to make alts like other people breathe. I guess its just how I am. I like to play around with them, then transfer everything I've gotten to my main. lol

I've seen over the past ~2 weeks at almost any time of day all the servers are 'light' load. only VERY rarely wille 6 or so go medium and one or two heavy. It seems if the population did age, it is now bored.

I forgot. Also Prices in general seem to be on the rise on lots and lots of servers. For everything too, from basic harvested stuff, to armor and weapons, to LORE (which is almost never on sale), to almost everything. I know this may just be an odd time for the market, but rarity is also sometimes related to population.

i know one time on my server i did /who all and there were less than 50 people.. in ff11 2k is usually a small amount of people

Actually SOE carried over the code from EQ1 which hides the number of people. A /who all will never yield more than 100 people. I doubt that any server, except in the first few minutes after server up, had 50 people.

You probably got 100 and thought that's all that there was.

If you do a /who all cleric 40 and get 98 people, then there's actually 98 of them. If you get 100, then there's probably more than 100 but its cut off.

SOE doesn't like people knowing how many are playing for whatever reasons.

I just came back to EQ2 from EQ1 and have noticed a lot less "newbies." However, there are always a bunch of people running around Antonica and groups are fairly common. I think a lot of the "wow" factor has diminished and the casual player has come and gone.

I love the tradeskills now (level 23 carpenter) and tradeskills are so much more fun then fighting IMO. Fighting experience is just way to slow for me. I have an 18 warrior and exp is crawling despite "double exp."

I can level a toon in EQ1 (untwinked) from 1- 25 faster then I can level a toon from 18 to 19 in EQ2. Thats a huge difference.

Overall, I am glad to be back and look forward to future expansions!

/who all dosent work in eq, if you just typed /who all you got probably the people in your zone alone.

EQ1 one remved the /who all count, at the same time they removed the numeric indication on their server pages.

The plague is over on Grobb server, I guess one of the guilds took out a raid mob that was spreading the plague. No idea where this mob was or anything like that. Just happy I don't have to look at it anymore.

Far as prices go I figure they will continue to rise as more and more money is put into the game. When I first started playing 1 gold was outrageous for a Adept 1 spell, now that is a reasonable price even for lower level adepts. For higher level players it isn't a big deal, but for newer players it makes buying anything really hard.

Also as a bit of server pop. Lots of semesters (college and high school I guess) ending. I know EQ and EQ2 probably have a bit older player base in general, I guess it might have an impact?

Eh I guess my sig explains it all. Lets just all get drunk and watch the problems melt away. =)

I don't know, I kind of a get a chuckle out of the plague. The power and control I can weild over others. When I have I just walk up to NPCs and PCs and wait a while. Soon I have them all puking in their shoes and shivering. I think the itchies are the best though.

I find it annoying only because of the people that seem to feel they MUST cure everyone. Drives me crazy to get a group invite right in the middle of a good TS run. I just leave the invite hanging there :) I figure I've been petitioned as a bot at least a dozen times hehe.
