An EQ2 player's perspective on GuildwarsFollow

If you have played Guildwars and also enjoy playing Everquest 2, I am interested in hearing your perspective on the game. I've read reviews in various magazines and online, but the people who write those may or may not have very disimilar tastes in video games.

This is not a "Which is better Guild Wars or EQ2" thread, because I have no intention of quitting EQ2 anytime soon. The game did sound interesting though, especially the combat style which claims it is more "skill based" rather than "time based." For someone like myself, who is lucky to have an hour or two a night to play games, this sounds very appealing. How it works in execution is another matter altogether, of course.

I might be playing both games soon, but before I finalize a purchase, I would like to hear a fellow EQ2 player's opinion. I would like to hear about the following points, but would be appreciative of anything you had to say about the game, based upon your experience.

-Graphics I don't care if they are worse or better than EQ2, but did you like character models and terrain?

-Combat System How did this feel to you? Do you think it has potential?

-Depth Did gameplay seem linear or did you feel like you had a lot of options or paths to choose?

-Customization I love to customize and peronalize my characters, was the creation process in depth or did it seem very basic to you?

Thanks again! Smiley: smile

I am really trying to keep open on the game.. but I played the beta and have to say I was rather bored after about 2 weeks.. which is how long it took to max out a char.

The game is geared around the high end protion of the game and pvp... the pve is very lacking in the sense that you don't really get much in the way of epic quests or mobs or raidable places.. if the pvp is hopping on a certain night you have pretty much nothing to do...

I am still out to lunch but as of right now it is a maybe play one night with some friends kind of game..
