Can you learn another armor skill? For instance, I have the 'Very Light Armor' skill, so can I learn 'Light Armor'?

The highest level of armour you can wear is set at level 20, and it all depends on your class.

You don't actually learn these, they're automatic. So if you're a caster, it will always be Very Light for you.

Speaking of armor...

I'm currently doing my AQ so I'll be getting new (hopefully pretty good) armor soon.

Thing is, after I hit lvl 20 I went ahead and purchased a set of boiled leather armor, which looks cool IMO and has pretty good stats.

Will the armor I get on my AQ be better than that? If so, of course I'll replace it... but my next question is, since I just attuned my new armor, was this a total waste of my money? Of course I can use it til I complete the AQ, I know this. But after I complete the AQ do I just sell my existing armor to a merch and get what I can for it?

edit: one more thing on this topic~ how many times can we get AQ's? Is it a one time thing or do we get them at various levels? I don't want to make the mistake of purchasing armor again only to turn around and get new armor thru a quest.

To be honest I went through the first 3 aq's and found that I needed to be better equiped to handle the later ones which I found out that the armor i had was better thaan the aq armor. My sujestion if you want the xp and quest credit and exsporatory factor of the quests feel free. Otherwise I would just buy something close and go do other things like exsplore Nek forest ect. I travel the path less traveled on killing all the little cratures of the forest heh.

The AQ is good for the exp and the matching armor, but you will find you soon outgrow it (like what Commanderhoek said).

Buying your armor is fine, attuning is fine, you will just sell it back to a merchant later. I've found that armor has become somewhat disposable. If I use it, I will attune it, which means I'll sell it later when I get better armor.

Once you get Zek access, there is a NPC "Hammmer", just off the docks inside the small fortress, that gives quests for a whole set of Emerald Hide light armor. I completed one just to do it, even though it was the wrong type (I use very light).

I was in pretty much the same boat and since I didn't want to become a liability to the rest of my usual trio, I went ahead and sprung for a set of pristine boiled.

I am now wondering if the AQ is even worth doing... here's my point... I can get good XP just about anywhere in T Steppes so I don't need to kill specific mobs and big downside with the AQ armor is that it has a short range of use before it goes green, (check the skill ranges). Here are the stats I compiled on the AQ pieces vs. the player made tier 3 stuff. (BTW - I also included stats on the 2 imbued rare pieces since I got both of those instead of the regular.) Hope this helps...

The heavy armor from the quest is only slightly better than pristine crafted. I did a couple of the quests and then bought the rest of my set from players. I finished all the AQ's mostly for the experience, but I did end up wearing them because they're slightly better, but not so much that you would notice.

So far, for me, dropped armor is always inferior to either crafted or quested.

Now I'm saving my money for a full set of feyiron when I hit 30.

P.S. - You always have to buy the head piece because there's no quest for it.

You can imbue the pristine regular pants and chest too, with the same effect. (BTW :) )

For headgear to go with your AQ set, do the quest which starts in Baubleshire, starts with the Marshall near the bank Smiley: smile
