Hello, I am new to this game and I am interested in being a damge dealer that gets the most invites. What class gets the most invites in the dmge dealing category. Thanks for any help.

I would say try out a mage or a scout based on your preferences. But you do get a few character slots, so try it out with different races and different classes to see what you like.

Keep in mind that youll get more group invite oncelevel 15, as most people solo to that point. So youll have to form your own group mostly if you want to play in group before that point.

There are a few basic roles in a group:
Tank: Fighter Class. Has ability to Taunt (keep agro) and take a pounding. They are a welcome addition to a group of mages trying to kill without getting killed. May not be able to deal out as much damage as DPS's.
Healer: Any Priest class will do, although Clerics are rumored to have more powerful heals. Highly sought after for almost every group, and a definate requirement for any group that wants to take on tough mobs. Heal spells attract mobs.
Damage Per Second (DPS): Pretty much everyone else, i.e. Scouts and Mages. They can deal big damage, but attract unwanted agro from the mobs.

I always see folks asking for Healers or Tanks. Once those basic slots of a group are filled, they look for DPS "fillers".

So you can see you may not fill both jobs at the same time. You will find times when there are many groups needing a class, or you may find it nearly impossible to get into a group. In the long run, it all depends on what you like to play.

Happy Disclaimer: This is just a basic overview. There are many possible combinations of classes and groups that will work. I'm sure many folks will have strong opinions. :)

I'm a lvl 21 Fury (priest>druid>fury)... and so far as grouping goes, I can say that I have had zero problem.

I started grouping with strangers for my first big encounter in BlackBurrow back around lvl 17ish (til then I was perfectly happy to solo and still enjoy soloing some even now).
Since that very first grouping, the same basic skeleton of the group gets together regularly for encounters, so I'd say they don't have a problem with grouping w/ a druid>fury Smiley: wink

(The other members that comprise the skeleton of our regular 'group' are lvl 22 scout>bard>dirge, lvl 27 paladin, lvl 19 crusader. We fill in with one or two more here and there but I'm often the only healer.)

Also, let me interject that I very much enjoy the fact that I can heal myself (and others). Right now, besides the basic heals I can also cure noxious which is a great bonus during this plague-filled time in Norrath. Besides healing, the priest>druid class can also dole out a nice bit of damage on the side. At lvl 20, druids (fury/warden) acquire the ability to change form which also boosts group and self abilities such as strength/special attack/agility etc. I find this class very fun, versatile, and beneficial to groups. Plus there don't seem to be an overabundance of them around! (nice)

All of this being said, the bottom line is... healers don't generally have trouble finding groups. I just prefer this particular class b/c we aren't limited to strictly healing.

Let's /dance!
