I'm going to say Monk but it would very much depend on the weapons.

I disagree, as a 33 berskerer with a monk in the group i was consitently attaining a dps of around 60 - sometimes higher sometimes lower. My peak on a single-mob encounter was 75 dps, group encounters even higher, while the monk in my group was averaging around 45-50 dps. As Bluie said, a lot depends on the equipment and level of skills, but not such a large gap in dps. As a berserker, we have no single over-riding damage skill that (for example) warlocks, wizzes and brigands have, so less will depend on the level of skills. Most of mine are adept 1s, and most of his were as well.

It mainly depends on how well people play. In the same group, I was outdamaging the ranger and the swashbuckler combined to begin with. However, once I spoke to them both trying to egg them on to do more damage, they started doing far more damage though never as much as me.

If both the zerker and the monk play to their best ability, I think you will find that they will do similar amounts of damage.

On that note, I have yet to find a player that will regularly beat me in damage output, regardles of class or playing ability.

All I am going to say is that being a 42 monk I can usually get near 160 DPS per fight. I have no idea how other fights stack up.

ok because i was thinkin monks have best dps on single mobs and zerkers are better for 3-whatever mobs.

There is a slight deviation there. Berzerkers tend to do SLIGHTLY more DPS in large encounters due to the larger amount of AoE attacks they get. Monks only get one, but it really hits em hard.

I am very surprised at the numbers you have posted. My Paladin is currently level 24 and she consistently gets upwards of 60 - 70 DPS. My melee attack alone averages 60 damage with an additional proc 33% of the time and another proc 5% of the time. That isn't including her HOs and spells. It is difficult for me to get an accurate DPS, without using an external program or trying to manipulate a stopwatch with one hand and use the keyboard and mouse with another, but it is a close approximation.

Regardless, a character almost 10 levels higher than mine, should be doing a lot more damage than that, unless you are not calculating in spells, HOs, and procs, and just straight melee damage, or what you posted is a typo.

i always take keeljoo's responces the most serously becuase while being a monk hes not like most people saying whatever class they play is the best. so thanks for that. i think im gunna go barb or dwarf zerker this time around

There is no way a monk of that level can get that DPS when they are actually trying. I would bet all of my in-game money that the monk was just being lazy and not going all out.

i have a (currently) 42 zerker, and my dps is very good, usually over 100. if u want to know for sure, go to www.combatstats.com its a nice parser that will paste results in ur chat window, so u can post it in game so everyone can see. while this gets annoying(i have created a chat channel for my own viewing pleasure that invite others to join if they want results). all this being said, i dont quite understand the dps of other toons. since my zerk was born, he has been pretty much the top dps in group, no matter the mob, group, single, epic, etc. i have played with every class in the game, and they all seem low to me. this i have a feeling has to do with the tanking factor, as counter attacks and DS may add to ur dps(but when im dps, i get the same results). wiz/warlock/conjurer/necro all have good dps, and if just one battle is considered, they can out do me easily, but over the long haul, they are not as consistant. same with rogue classes. monk classes are also very good dps, and perhaps more consistant than rogue/mages. one way to truely test, get the parser, post the results after each battle so everyone can see it, and inevitably everyone will try as hard as they can to up their dps. see who wins, and the next time, etc. ive tracked this for a long time now. and zerks are just plain awesome dps, but not the only class. just funny when people /ooc they need dps, i respond, and they say, HAHA, ur not dps.... their lose i guess. this night i (42) went to permafrost with 2 healers(6th and 5th place) 44 ranger (4th place) me(3rd) and the 48 conjurer and 48 guardian were neck and neck, but not that far ahead of me. i was quite suprised. well there ya go, test it urself if u dont believe. btw, i think we are GREAT tanks as well, just as good as guardians or any other class, so why pick anything else when u can have the best of both worlds.
