I'm wondering to plan ahead. I am going to be an Artisan/Guardian
and am wondering.... what kind of artisan? If anyone of you have any suggestions on what kind I should be then please post it.

Thanks

I would say whatever you want to be or enjoy the most. I would hate to give advice based on my preferances, only to have you be disappointed later on, but....

Provisioner is nice as you will always need quality food and drink. Not to metion that more Provisioners could mean more selling competition, and possibly bring the prices down for those items. I have heard that prices for handcrafted food on some servers is outrageous.

If you are still at the artisan level, try making a few diffrent things and find what you like to make, and try to steer away from what you think might be more profitible. That may make your crafting experience more enjoyable and having fun is what its all about.

Hope this helps.

You may want to consider armorer or weaponsmith. That way you can make your own stuff and use it, too.

Here's a good link for crafting.

As a Guardian I went with Provisioner. But as Artisan I tried out all the recipes to be sure that was what I would enjoy. There's no point in choosing something then getting bored stiff with it later on.

I very rarely sell anything. Takes me all my time just to keep up with my own needs plus giving a few items to friends and guildies.

So just choose the trade you enjoy the most, you'll spend a lot of time with it.

The only problem with choosing a trade based on what you need to make for yourself is that unless you can keep your crafting level way ahead of your adventuring level, you won't ever make much that you can really use!

I'll explain using my own character as an example...

I play a 22 warden / 23 tailor. I chose to go tailor in no small part so that I could make my own leather armor. The problem is that at level 22 I am now ready for the tier 3 "boiled leather" armor, (it has just become orange to me), but can only make the first 2 pieces. The recipes for the other four pieces will drift in gradually over the next 4 levels.

Since my tier 2 "tanned leather" gear is already blue to me, I want to change over as soon as possible. I just don't fancy getting smacked around by every mob in Thundering Steppes, and it will take way too long if I have to wait till I can craft the armor for myself!

Seems kind of silly for a tailor to buy tailored goods but I guess that's just the way it goes!
