#1 Apr 19 2005 at 12:09 AM Rating: Decent
Hello, kinda new to EQ2 and had a quick question. I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to get a hieratge quest?

That's a good question. I think they are for guilds only. I am not in a guild right now an I have not seen any quests for heritage, though it could be I just haven't looked in the right places. For a related topic, see my thread on Status Points.

Heritage qsts are not guild only. There is a person on the bridge in antonica outside the north qeynos that give a runing qst that makes you run around antonica for the first part, and second part sends you to antonica. It is called Journey is half the fun.

Anyone can do Heritage Quests but they do give huge status points also.

Here's a few to get you started -

J-Boots, start at level 15, Cru Naseto by NQ gate in Antonica.

Greater Lightstone, start at 15, kill Lightbringer Wisp in Commonlands to get the starter.

Dwarven Workboots, level 20, Hwal Rucksif at Ardent Keep in Antonica.

Ghoulbane, level 8, Vida Sweeps in Nettleville. When you get the Dusty Blue Stone keep it til you are level 20, then examine it to start the Ghoulbane quest.

Glowing Black Stone, Fishbone Earring and Shiny Brass Halberd start at 25, and there are others which start at higher levels.

Wow! That's some of the best info I've heard in a while Bluie. So if the heritage quests give status points, then a player CAN earn status points while not in a guild and the in game help menu is correct (see other thread on earning status points outside of a guild).

Also try this link for a semi-complete list of Heritage quests.

Good luck!

Only a class that can use a sword can complete this quest for status. (...or maybe only paladins.) You have to be able to equip the sword to finish completely.

I just took this quest as far as I could go last night, which is to kill undead in Stormhold for the priest in the Temple of Life. You tell him you don't feel like finishing this and you can't even use a sword if you did, or something like that. He then offers you a choice of pretty decent alternative weapons if you give him the stone. I took a hammer that was still red to me at 27. I did not get any status.

Couple of things -

1. Sorry if my post was misleading, if you're not in a guild you won't get any status points from Heritage Quests.

2. Any class can do any Heritage Quest right to the end regardless of whether or not you can use the final item. If you can't use it or don't want to, it can be sold to a merchant for 20 gold or displayed in your room as a trophy.

Ack, my mistake. I thought you had to actually use Ghoulbane to kill quest mobs to get it to the full power version.
