You can use them to buy stuff from City Merchants but you have to be in a guild also.

When your guild hits level 15 (I think its 15) you are able to buy horses at a discounted price (1 plat 38ish gold, 56kish status points).

If it wasn't for my guild and heritage quest I wouldn't be riding a horse. You can also buy some stuff from status merchants but to be honest most of it is just cosmetic stuff for your house. The armor sucks stat wise, and until your in a lvl 25 guild the tradeskill equipment won't let you reach pristine quality.

Id just save those points, eventually you just might want a horse :)

Instead of a horse, my Conjurer is saving for a flying carpet. But is there a cheaper version? Maybe a door mat? Drink coaster? (kidding) :)

Anybody got info on the flying carpets? What's the price range/ how fast do they go/ any limitations/benefits? I think I want to save for that too (although it'll take me a long time to save the kind of coin I believe it takes to get one of these)

They must not be too easy to get, cuz I saw on SOE's News that so far only one person has gotten one as of recently.

Yup I don't plan on owning a flying carpet anytime soon. I think its nice they have them in the game for the super duper hard core players. But I just don't play enough nor make the cash to ever even consider having something like that. Im perfectly happy with my low cost horse. In all the years of playing eq1 I never owned a horse (not so much I couldn't afford one, but I just didn't feel as a druid it was worth buying). But after playing eq2 for 3 months I have easily been able to buy a horse and feel like it helps me. And as a caster it has saved me a shard and exp debt MANY times :)

But really a horse is the best thing to buy with status points IMO. The armor is 100% junk (other then for show), and most of the items are useless.

Thanks for the input, Fronglo.

I didn't realize you were a druid too! Smiley: grin
Do you mind telling me some things about your horse such as how much I can expect to pay for one/how many status points I need and how that will affect cost? (I don't have to have the 'best' horse, just want to get one that will well suit my needs)

In light of what Bluie told me about the cost of flying carpets:

Ummmm, yeah... sorry I asked! LOL

So, how bout that steed info? Smiley: lol

Well if your guild isn't level 15 the lowest level stead is 2pp 40gold I think. If it is it costs 1pp 40gold and a buncha ststus. It adds 24% speed increase.
