Smiley: banghead oops, hit enter accidentally on opening post.

... as I was beginning to say,

I've been reading some cool things about degeneration and the great things it does for taking out mobs with ease when cast early in the encounter.

As my main is a druid, off the top of my head my 'weakness' debuff comes to mind when thinking about degeneration. I'm still relatively low lvl (18)so I'm sure I need to get an upgrade for 'weakness' regardless, but my question is this:

Does degeneration belong to a different class or is it something that comes in time to druids as well?

If it's not given to druids, my next question would be, would Weakness be a good sub for this to be cast early on in an encounter to have similar effects on the mob?

I generally try to cast weakness early on in the encounter anyway... it can't hurt, right? Smiley: grin
Responses appreciated.

Lvl 22 warden here and as a point of reference, I tend to trio with two rl friends or solo. I rarely get involved in full groups.

I guess weakness is considered a de-buff since it lowers the mob's strength, but since it's a lvl 7 spell, I tend to use it only after I have landed several other things that I consider more useful. I tend to DoT and snare first and then maybe weaken if I don't go straight to an HO. Our lvl 21 snare is also a de-buff, lowering both movement rate and agi and I find it a much better follow up to the DoT than weakness.

Stinging Swarm, (our lvl 14 DoT), is one of my favorite spells, but since it has a short duration I tend to lead off, (and even pull), with it so I can hit the mob with it again when it drops.

I would think that Feral Intimidation, (your lvl 21 de-buff), would be a good replacement for weakness since it lowers both str & wis.

BTW - shouldn't you quote read "Hell hath no woman like a fury scorned"???

LOL... I hear ya, of course that quote "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned" was my inspiration on my sig quote... I guess I wanted to focus more on the fury of the Fury aspect of it, not the scorned woman aspect. Smiley: wink
